Two heart attacks and two stents. Had to stop Statins but cholesterol still high. Have been taking Ezetimibe but now been suggested I try Nustendi .

Anyone any experience of this drug.

hello, I take Nilemdo which is Bempedoic Acid without ezetimibe, Nustendi has a combination of Bempedoic Acid & ezetimibe. I can’t take statins. I’ve been on Nilemdo for 2 years for FH and it has just about halved my high cholesterol with no side effects. It’s quite a new drug and works differently in the body to statins. It’s worked really well for me.

Within days of starting to take Nustendi, I got severe lower-back pain which didn't subside until I stopped taking it. Waited 2 weeks and tried again with the same result.

I viewed it as a punishment for rejecting statins because of their side-effects

The eventual side effects of the statins were dreadful. Ezetimibe has been great for me and has reduced my cholesterol but my level is not as low as what the consultant would like. She recommended Nunstendi.

Hope you have improved now. It’s all trial and error!
