After having CABG surgery I awoke with a numb left hand, has anyone else had this and if so how long did it take to sort out? It’s just coming up to 2 weeks post op, I have seen online that this could be caused by nerves being stretched, please let me know if anyone has any suggestions how to speed up this recovery
Thanks

Just wondering whether like me you had an artery harvested from your left arm. If so there could be some damage to the nerves. I still have a partially numb thumb and occasional pains in my wrist and hand which I use Ibuprofen gel on. I am 6 years post op by the way.
If you didn't have an artery harvested, then I don't know what may have caused the numbness in your hand.
I had the artery harvested from my left arm and have had a lot of numbness and pain in my thumb and index finger. I’m 51 weeks post op and only recently has the pain reduced and sense of feeling returning…. I would say it now feels like your jaw does after a filling
Main effective thing I found that helps is CBD cream ‘Hemp’
