I'm on bisoprolol and have never heard that. however, I did just have my ears professionally drained for the first time in my life (they were popping, aching), so I suppose they could be related.

This is news to me as I also take Bisoprolol! The online info denies any such link with hearing issues.

Perhaps there are other reasons for hearing loss, which I have had prior to my heart issues.

hi Tinker2025, I’m seeing an ENT specialist on Monday because since the last week of June I’ve had a noise in my ear like listening to the ocean constantly it doesn’t stop. GP had a Quick Look down my ears and said ‘no infection’ - how he knows that as he can’t see in my inner ear I don’t know. Told me to go back in a couple of weeks if I’m still the same hence the appointment on Monday. It also affects me with loud noises and if I go in a room with a lot of people talking and on the tv everything is exaggerated and loud and echoes. I’ve been on Bisoprolol for over a year now. I will have to see what happens on Monday to what the ENT specialist thinks it is and if he is going to do tests. I feel as though it’s one thing after another since being diagnosed HF and I wasn’t on any tablets before that so I know these tablets are good for helping and saving lives but they cause a lot of other things too. Joy

I took them for roughly 10months this is happening since I stopped I think. I think the bisprolol made more fluid in my middle ear I was on a coach holiday since yesterday and most of the trip down was awful with this ear popping going loud and echo like you. I started my plantago last night which I keep in because I get fluid build up sometimes today I purchased Sterimar congestion relief. So far today ok but on Saturday going on coach again on a trip hope it works for that. I know that since I took them my tinnitus got louder wished I never took them To be honest.

can I ask how long you had to wait the Ent specialist appointment I presume that’s what you have

Hi the appointment wasnt long 2 weeks as we have private insurance. He was very thorough tested my hearing and took wax out of my good ear lol. He’s arranging an MRI and sending me to a place that can do a more intense hearing examination. Because I’ve got postural authostatic hypotension and I’ve had syncopes the lack of oxygen and blood on these occasions is not going up to my head quick enough and he said it could be due to what has happened to my ear problems. If you can go private perhaps for the initial consultation it might hurry things up for you. We are lucky enough to have private healthcare with my husbands job. Let me know how you get on. Joy x

Thank you for that I will mention it to the ENT specialist on Monday and if he thinks it could be the tablets I will send a message to Cardiologist Secretary to see what they say. X

Yes I had this problem too. It is not that uncommon if you search the BHF site you'll see others. I had it so badly, as well as the insomnia it caused, could not tolerate it. Now I take it as and when needed and each time it still causes the congestion to return! You should find it lessens over the next few weeks, it took a while to clear in my case but be assured it will. The cardiologist had not heard of it before, but trust me it is a side effect! I don't believe ear issues are listed on the leaflet but I fully support all individuals being believed for their individual reactions - we know ourselves best!

During my recovery I also felt ringing in my ears, there were periods that persisted for about 2 to 3 weeks, now it happens occasionally. another symptom that happens to me in my ears is like covering and uncovering internally as if it were throbbing
