Has anyone else experienced pain in one side of ribs, nearly six months after OHS?

I also have developed a cough, which occurs after eating.

Hello :-)

Sorry no one seems to have been able to relate so far to your question maybe someone will be able to but with you developing a cough I would talk with my Doctor and see what they have to say

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi

Thankyou for your reply. I have been seen by my Dr and it’s in relation to being on aspirin. Reflux acid, it’s also caused by being on ibuprofen for a long while after surgery.

Hello :-)

I am glad you have spoken with your Doctor and I hope it has given you peace of mind

I get terrible reflux acid so I know how that feels

Not sure but are you on the coated aspirin if not that can be gentle on are stomachs and maybe worth asking if they could possibly prescribe that it may not take all your symptoms away but if it helps a little bit then it would be worth it :-) x

I am on the chalk aspirin, maybe I need to purchase the coated ones instead.

Thankyou for the advice, my ribs have become uncomfortable again but that’s normal for the healing process.

Hello :-)

Ask your Doctor first to make sure they are ok with it they may even prescribe it on your repeats if they are happy with you taking it

Yes you need time to heal so some pain is expected but I hope every day things get a little better :-) x

Hello :-)

Thank you for asking just seems a huge struggle with me with one thing after another not always heart related but certainly add to the anxiety I already struggle to cope with due to my heart events

Thank you again it was very kind of you to ask :-) x

Hello :-)

Well they tell me it is ok but every little feeling I still go in a panic and we are nearly 3 years since the Bypass

I did have to go to the Hospital for an appointment Thursday that was a work or art I had cancelled 6 due to my agoraphobia took 3 others to get me there this time but at the top of my scar for a year I have had a lump you can feel that actually makes a clicking sound and can be painful as well and it got a bit bigger so my Doctor was or said she was not concerned maybe to try and keep me calm but she would like me to have it scanned to which I thought you know I cannot get out and yet you are trying to get me to have it scanned and saying you are not concerned but anyway only took a year of me keep cancelling and I got there

Good news is they say it was nothing sinister and the best way I can explain it is the top of my scar underneath they saw when they scanned me that the skin had healed quite thickly if that makes sense and underneath that there is a 10m pocket of fluid but they say just to leave it which has left me concerned as I do not like to think it is there but that was the outcome which I was surprised as when you feel it under the skin and when it clicks it feels more like bone than fluid but I suppose they know what they see so shall have to try and believe it :-) x

Well done for attending your appointment and plucking up the courage.

Hopefully with time everything will get easier. I have a raised lump on top of my scar, but mine is because I have been operated on a few times.

Do you go for yearly appointments? X

Hello :-)

It was a performance getting me there I am not so sure if you had seen it you would have said well done but thank you :-)

I actually was just leaning over and felt it to me it really feels like a bone digging in me

I have not been asked back for yearly appointments they discharged me and put me back in my Doctors care

Sorry you have been through several operations and understandable that maybe the scar is raised because of it

Mine you cannot see but you can feel it :-) x
