Afternoon me hearties I was just wondering if anyone is suffering head pain or headaches caused by possibly Clopidogrel blood thinner.
I am on Aspirin and Clopidogrel and Ranitidine for stomach due to aspirin although im on the coated one now I have had what I believe is called a cluster head pain over my right eye and ear it's very annoying and paracetamol stops working after a bit The Doctor said there was nothing they could do put up and shut up , type thing I'm 73 so expect that. I have stopped the Ranitidine because that can cause it, I still have the headache but not as severe it can affect the quality of sleep, So I am thinking it must be the Clopidogrel blood thinner thats causing it, Has anyone else had this sort of problem and can come up with a sensible answer or cure other than chop the head off . most grateful

Hello I also take Clopidogrel also ranitidine and atenolol, and suffer with terrible headaches every day, I don’t think it is the ranitidine because I have been taking them for many years long before my ha. My gp ignored me when I mentioned it, I was taken off aspirin due to stomach problems but take one occasionally to help the headaches.
Thank you Platypus6 , seems we are on the same meds, I think it is the Cloidogrel that causes it as ive been off Ranitidine for 4 days still have headaches but not as sever I think they both give headache symptoms agree doctors look at you as if you are making it up but it is on the list of problems best of luck to you
I was proscribed Clopidrogel but they didn't suit me, plus I read somewhere that they can have various side effects so I changed to aspirin 75mg and have had no problems since.
Hi, I am on Clopidogrel after stents fitted 3.5 weeks ago, I do not suffer the type of headaches you describe, I'm assuming you have read the side effects leaflets you get with each medication prescribed? I know some of them can be pretty scary! As for the "put up and shut up attitude" from your doctor remind him if it wasn't for your generation he would be speaking German and most likely not in the profession he is in now. I hate it when people get that response from so called doctors, they are there to look after our health it's their chosen job, tell them you are not satisfied with their attitude towards you because of your age! Demand better you deserve it.
thanks for that actually I was born in 1946 the year the war ended so me thinks I would not have been in it Doctors these days are more concerned on how much the drug is going to cost them out of there budget, I have had these headaches for about 3months and have read the side effects, not much one can do if you are told that is what they want you to take either that or the coffin
