had H/E 2020 september. I had swollen ankles just before it happened. I’ve been all ok since then but my ankles have swollen two days now. Should I get myself to A&E or should I just watch how things go

I think I would go via the GP who could refer you to the hospital if need. If you get breathless as well then A&E or get the GP to refer you to SDEC - Same Day Emergency Care. At our GP practice you can turn up at 8.30am and they can book you in to SDEC, probably not possible at all practices. BUT you have had a HA before and you may feel more at ease sitting in A&E where, if anything were to happen, there would be immediate help. Take yourself along with a something to do, drink and food as you won't be top of their list. And don't forget you can ring 111 they will talk you through your symptoms and get advice you what to do.

I have had swollen ankles during the hot weather. It disappears overnight. I have mentioned this on a review at my surgery and they don’t appear concerned just say at night when sitting to elevate them.

hi carercmb . Yes that’s what I’ve done. I’m in Italy at the moment caring for mother in law 96 . It’s been hot and I imagined that’s what the problem was but heart failure team initially said that my HF was light but to watch fir extended stomach and swollen ankles. I actually went to A&E here . The doctor was brilliant. I had ecg and he said all was well. I don’t usually worry because you can’t change a thing but not being at home was a bit scary. Anyway all seems good and thanks for caring enough to reply. All the best to youxxx

That's not a reason to go to A&E. I would go to my GP

Are you feeling ok? If it’s been over a long period best get onto doctor. They can leave things sometimes . I was concerned because I was told to report to them if my ankles swelled, so I did.

Hope you get it sorted soon.
