Hi to all you wonderful people. Q: I have heart disease. I had two stents mid year and am now on medication l. My cardiologist believes medicine can control my issues so that is reassuring. However my ankles are swelling. Is this an issue? Thank you in advance.

The most likely medication to cause odema is Diltiazem. Diltiazem is a CCI (calcium channel inhibitor) and these are well known for causing odema. Ring your GP. They may decide to try an alternative CCI or add in a diuretic.
I would say you should call someone on your medical team (111, GP, Heart Failure Nurse, Consultant) today. It does sound like you benefit from a water pill/s.
Not to alarm you...... you can see your ankles swelling but there may be fluid retention around organs which you can't see.
