For the past few weeks I’ve been getting the following symptoms:
- tingling across body
- hot and cold sensation off. Burning sensation. Wet sensations in skin.
- cold hands and feet feeling
- liver test slightly raised.
At first I thought something was seriously wrong, but had a spine and head mri and all is normal. I’m now wondering if this could be bisoprolol? Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I’m only taking 1.25mg for tachycardia.

I am on 5mg. I get cold feet hands nose frequently. I also get hot patches on my skin which comes and go in different places randomly, am in process of trying to determine which meds may be causing it, so no idea of Bisoprolol to blame.
I’m in 1.25mg bisoprolol and GP believes that my dose has interacted with 2 previous statins to give me a whole host of side effects, drop in BP, feeling cold , fatigue , brain fog/cognitive impairment, raging tinnitus , . Now trying a 3rd statin at low dose with a view to increasing .. not had many issues , still get a bit cold. I’d love to ditch bisoprolol at some point 🤣
I,ve been on bisoprolol 1.25 for ten days i.ve been having similar feeling s i get a burning sensation in the armpitt area and last night i felt not great while sitting watching t.v on several occasions i felt wierd burning in armpitt area and sesations in light sensations in chest area, scares the hellout of me sometimes, rarely had these sensations before taking bisoprolol.
Bisoprolol is well known for creating cold fingers and toes. I suffer from Raynauds and my symptoms got worse even with just a 1.25mg dose of Bisoprolol. I now take Nifedipine to counteract the problems, but still have those cold ends to my fingers and toes... at least I don't have white fingers any more. 😀
Hi 👋 I've only been on Bisoprolol 5mg daily 6 months for irregular heart beat and its been a blessing for me personally but yes I get cold hands and feet like yourself, but the over riding factor is its sorted me out a treat to which I was struggling with palpitations causing anxiety for no reason, it took GP sending me to see consultant at hospital to put me on Bisoprolol 5mg daily, it works for me so don't be overly concerned although all individuals react differently, I wish you well 👍
I’ve been taking Bisoprosol since my heart attack in 2018 starting on 2.5mg and increased to 5mg in 2021 and haven’t experienced any of the side effects you mention, Are you taking any other medication or vitamins that might interact with the Bisoprosol? I only mention this because I was asked to stop taking a multivitamin that contained calcium as it interfered with some of my heart medication..
Hi I did have very strong tingling in my hands and feet and legs for the first 6 months on this. Plus feeling very cold at times. When I was asked to stop Bisoprolol for two days for a planned stress test these symptoms almost disappeared, and I felt so much better. The cardiologist still wanted me to take this med as it has reduced by BP to a good level. He did agree to my dosage being reduced from 2.5mg to 1.25mg and changed to taking it just before bed, so you are at rest, hopefully sleeping and symptoms are not so noticeable. This helped me sleep better as well.
I came across a report on a US site that said if you bathe in Epsom Salts on a regular basis it helps detox your body, especially if you are taking a lot of drugs. So that is what I do every other evening before bed. Just a small handful of the salts in the water. I buy it on Amazon gets delivered to my door. If you don't have a bath use an old washing up bowl, I did this when I went away for a weekend. I so relied on this relief that I bought a fold down washing bowl campers use to take with me to the hotel. Sitting a lot during that wedding brought on the tingling again in my legs.
I also found if I make sure I walk and have a little exercise daily (I do the BHF exercise for heart patients from their website if I can't walk out) on a regular basis during the day these feelings get less and less. I am now almost free of the tingling. My feet were also red at night it seemed to be when I stopped moving around.
Maybe I am a strange one, but this method works for me. Take care xxxx
When I use to take bisoprolol , I feel all symptoms you expirience now. Even small dose made me feel really bad . My cardio change it for Nebivolol . I feel much better now . Maybe you can try change it for something else . All the best
Hi, I've been taking 1.25mg of Bisoprolol since 2019. I suffer with cold hands and feet and was told that it's a common side effect of the medication. Another side effect I have is if I need to take an extra Bisoprolol tablet, it makes my everyday movements feel like very hard work.
