Feeling Cold - Reaction to Heart Meds ?

Hi,

60 year old asthmatic male. Diagnosed with moderate LAD stenosis - and put on the following medication

Altorstation 80mg

Asprin - 75g

diltiazem 180 (Calcium Channel blocker)

Was already on ramipril

Started these meds in Jan 2024. Seem to have noticed I am really feeling the cold. When Im waking the dog my hands are freezing and go red - my butt cheeks feel like 2 blocks of ice - Could this be an effect of the medication ?

The only thing I have noticed is that my resting HR has dropped from 55 to around 45 - but thought that was the point of the meds ?

Any thoughts welcome

Hello :-)

Your meds could be causing it but I would try and talk with my Doctor or pharmacist if I struggled ti get an appointment with my Doctor and see what they say just in case it is something else :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi Topper60, it's probably the medication you take. I'm on lots of medication but my cardiac nurse advised it will be Carvedilol. I feel chilled within (it's a different sensation from just being cold). I think you should speak to the pharmacist or GP. Best wishes.

my husband is on similar and has a similar reaction - but it was diagnosed as Reynauds syndrome. Regardless, s word with your pharmacist has been said.
