I need some advice ASAP to know if I'm over thinking this or I need to be worried. As you know I just keep getting ill, well I decided to have a bath cause I felt so gross from sweating so much. Anway I was only in the bath for 25 mins and my vision started going funny like double vision and I felt faint so I stood up and my hearing went really strange and my eyes went weird and I felt lightheaded and tight chest and wheezy so I quickly sat down and had some water I did my heart rate on oximeter was 126 and stayed like that for a good 15 mins and my blood pressure was 109/72 ( normal for me is 120/80). I'm wondering if it's because I'm so exhausted from getting ill or I need to let my GUCH team know, I had double vision and felt faint after exerciseing aswell. And yesterday walking up a hill my heart rate went up to 169 and I was sooooo out of breathe was a joke! Anway when I had finished going down the hill it dropped to 108 and stayed like that for an hour after I got home so a few days of feeling off. I'm wondering if it could be POTS and I need to be refered to someone to double check I just don't know how to do that π. Sorry for rambling. Hope your all keeping well x

You mention your chest was tight and wheezy. Steam can sometimes trigger asthma symptoms and I know you already have asthma. Did you take your inhaler to see if it settled with that, or did it resolve on its own?
109/72 isnβt bad. Remember, hot baths or showers can cause your BP to drop as it dilates your blood vessels.
Either way, it is safer to let your GP know, especially with the lightheadedness and blurred vision you are experiencing.
When was your last medication review? Verapamil can work to lower the heart rate, but it maybe that your dose needs adjusting if your heart rate continues to increase upon doing small activities and not a lot of movement.

Thanks hun x yeah I'm probably overreacting. I don't understand why this is happening to me, I'm on a new inhaler now so my asthma symptoms are improving but still not great. I'm probably still exhausted from my throat infection took alot out of me. I will let my team know just incase it's anything.

Why has the consultant said you do not need the Verapamil anymore? I thought they had put you on it to stabilise your heart rate. What dosage are you on now? If you feel the Verapamil is giving you relief, you should discuss this with your consultant to re-consider.

Thanks hun x i am on verapamil 40mg but once a day now I'm reducing it instead of completely stopping it.
Yes, it is better to wean yourself off it as opposed to stopping it suddenly. Did the consultant say why you didnβt need it any longer? X
He just said I don't really need to be on verapamil, even though they found that I had VT π€. So weird x
Do you know the burden of your VTs?
Let the consultant or medical team know next time that you are concerned about your VTs and if stopping the Verapamil will make them worse as thatβs the last thing you want at the moment x
All I know is what my holter monitor showed on my last hospital letter I don't know, all I know is my palpitations have calmed down soooo much I only get the occasional one here and there so I still need verapamil I know that so when I go for my appointment at my new hospital then I will mention everything to them x
In my letter it said broad complex Tachycardia, 12 extra beats I know that's not alot but it was enough to cause light headed and palpitations x
Oh forgot to add my consultant told me verapamil dosent cause any symptoms like I have been feeling so I'm so lost right now. I reduced my verapamil because my consultant said I don't need it anymore and he wanted me to stop completely but I didn't I just reduced it.
Its good to slowly titrate off of any beta blockers !!
Hi just a thought but could you have Atrial flutter or SVT.Those symptoms sound like mine during the pandemic which later was discovered as flutter.HR was 135 and rising to 150.I felt hot ,dizzy and sweaty but no vision problems.Flutter will only be found if its happening as you have your ecg.3 seconds seems a very short ecg to me .Others may know more than me though.Verapimil helped to control the rate but I had to have maximum dose till an ablation in 22.
Hi. Have you considered that you might just be suffering from anxiety? I've suffered a number of similar symptoms over the year. I've had multiple tests, tweaked my meds, had an ablation ... So I know there's nothing wrong with my heart. I now believe my symptoms are in the main due to anxiety. I'm now putting my energy in to addressing these, mainly through exercise,other forms of distraction and the symptoms are subsiding. I'm no expert but just something to consider. Good luck
I do have anxiety I'm on sertraline 50mg x but this felt different but maybe I'm wrong
Hello Everything is such a worry isnβt it .
Iβve had the same thing over the year occasionally with being lightheaded unbalanced almost fainting with the Vision problems you mentioned, it was all very scary, I then had them every day for 11 days so did go to the doctors who did another ECG and arranged for me to go into hospital to be checked/monitored on the cardiology ward.
The conclusion was it was my heart conditions causing it ( Iβve got AF and waiting for mitral valve surgery) and my dose of bisoperol was increased to 5mg twice a day , Iβve been home two weeks and so far have been fine with no more episodes .
Probably good to just get it checked out π x

I'm sorry to hear you're still poorly Yumz. Personally I think you should let your medical team know of any incidents of of double vision & fainting/dizziness etc if only to put your mind at rest. That BP reading isnt low but that doesn't mean it wasn't lower when you were feeling faint etc.

Probably but she just tells me to contact my cardiac team and I can't do that anymore because they accepted my request and refered me to a different hospital. Basildon like I wanted, thats where my grandad was treated x
Basildon is a brilliant hospital for cardiac issues, you'll certainly get great care there. It is difficult when you're between hospitals, we had the same issue with oncology as my husbands oncologist messed up the referral & caused all sorts of problems that took a year to sort out! Could you contact Basildon and ask to have a chat with the cardiology team, they really are very helpful there xx
Ah so glad to hear some great things about it, I've been there recently to visit a friend β€οΈ. It's very Modern, only part of the hospital I didn't see was cardiac department xx sorry to hear your hubby was messed around so much ππ. Looking forward to being treated by nice doctors and nurses will make a nice change and hopefully a nice cardiologist I think it's safe to say my previous one hates me π€£π€£π€£x
