Encouraging news for those of us who have EF that's on the lower side. I'm hoping I hear similar news during my check up appointment in March. I hope you continue to feel better xx
I can’t emphasise enough the value if healthy heart nutrition and exercise - while they say entresto is the gold star for heart medication it’s not the only reason I feel better and I’m getting good results both in EF and normal bloods
Totally agree.. ..I am careful with my diet and eat a heart healthy one. I do my daily walk plus my exercises fairly religiously and have a good mindset about it all. Trying to make best of a situation I would rather not be in but it is what it is so am cracking on with it lol. All the best and take care x
Hi That sounds great I'm very pleased for you we all need some good news from time to time , it's been suggested that I start on entresto soon I wonder did you have any significant side effects?Regards DaveB
My husband also a Dave, started on Entresto low dose 6 weeks ago which was upped to middle dose 3 weeks ago.The only side effects he got from it has been itching. He has more energy and no breathlessness but as I say the itching all over can sometimes be a bit annoying. HF nurse says it's not a serious side effect and the pros outweigh the cons so he's moisturising allover with e45 and taking an antihistamine if needed. This helps him
I had no side effects with entresto - it’s an amazing medicine and I take two higher doses at the same times daily. I’m also on a beta blocker, spiro, a blood thinner and avorastatin-another ting I did was add a multivitamin and glucosamine for arthritis . After a month my bloods were normal along with improved EF
I also rested when I needed to and did my long walks and swims
I’m still feeling so much better - only three weeks til the cardiologist
I got given entresto early on - about theee weeks after suffering pulmonary edema and my HF diagnosis
That's really good news. My husbands EF was 35 a year ago after his stroke caused by his AF. We’re due one next month and I’m extremely anxious about it . He s on all the meds to help improve it and they’re going to give him another one to get his heart pumping as best it can a couple of weeks before . Im just hoping it has gone up and not stayed the same or gone down . I’ll keep you posted .
That's fantastic news, well done. I had a cardiac arrest in February and my LVEF was 30-35%. I have an echo scan in 2weeks time, and I'm hoping I will see some improvement too - my diet is good, I have been doing lots of exercise, and I feel good, so fingers crossed.
