Ive had holter ecg blood tests troponin etc on heart all normal yet I'm not happy I keep thinking something is wrong with my heart

It goes over 100+ but more when walk to kitchen n no not calmed heart rate down yet 😭😭😭

Normal beats of the heart without any jumps, skips?Does your heart calm at night when sleeping or does if keep you awake?

I can hear my heart beat all the time through my ears. Mind you I haven't been normal for a long time. I am falling apart at the seams!

I assume you have had your iron levels checked?

It's calm most nights n I always hear my heart beat in ears thats how I now its racing... I get the odd skip n thuds most days but only couple times...i had fbc few weeks ago everything normal.....I just worry when it speeds up for no reason x

I had 7day holter Last may found odd eptopics that's all I did write down bout heart racing when it was reading beats with holter but Dr said was Normal x

Hi, sorry to hear you still having fast heart rate episodes.

You say you had a fbc test, but did that include B12 and Folate? Sorry to sound like a broken record on this.

My GP didn't put that down as part of my blood test for looking into heart palpitations I had to tell him to do it. That is how I found out I was deficient in folate which can have knock on effect on the heart. I did feel weak and generally unwell too.

When I had this problem my first port of call was to see a Cardiologist to definitely rule out any heart issues. I had to go private and it wasn't cheap but well worth the money from my point of view. He recommended other tests to my GP as part of a process of elimination to get to the bottom of the issue.

You could always say to your GP you are concerned and want to be referred to Cardiology!!

I assume from your posts you haven't seen a Cardiologist, I apologise if you have and I missed it.

It was cardiologist at hospital that did 7 day holter he wrote to GP with his finding said apart from odd eptopics it was normal I just don't understand why Im getting fast rates all time x

Do the fast rates come on when eating or drinking? Do you have a mobile phone too close? A server in the wrong position? A new telecomms mast nearby? Some other factor like new cleaning products or an increase in traffic outside?

Might be useful to keep a very detailed health diary for a week to see if you can track down any cause.

Overactive thyroid can also cause irregularities in heart Rhythm . Maybe ask your gp for a tsh test if not already done

I see. No one done an Echocardiogram then, which they probably wont do on the nhs unless they suspect something is wrong. I don't know that for sure though it is always worth asking. An Echo looks at the heart's structure and its function.

I am not a medical person I can only say what my experience was and how I dealt with it. I know how unsettling it is to have these type of symptoms. Perhaps another chat with the GP would help and I would suggest asking about the folate and b12 levels as well.

Have you considered that your symptoms might be due to anxiety? I've had similar. For ages thought it was my heart but had stents, ICD and recently ablation so I believe it's not my heart. Since addressing my anxiety symptoms are declining. Good luck.

I'm on sertraline 50mg a day I only know it's racing cos it's in my ears

Have you had your bloods done? My heart rate used to be high when I was anemic. I was iron deficient and folate deficient and my resting heart rate would randomly just shoot up. Might be worth, if you haven’t already to get a full blood count. I know it can be a scary feeling, hope you get it sorted!

Was your Holter 24hours or longer. The reason I ask is because my 24hours monitor said my heart was normal when it clearly was not. If 24 hours push for the 72 hours or the 7 day monitor

Hello I knew I had a problem with my heart and asked for

A B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) test

and echocardiogram.

I had been breathless and had AF a few times.

The BNP result was more than 2000 and I had an echo. I have cardiomyopathy and now on 3 meds.

I feel much better and I am hoping my heart muscle becomes stronger.

Not sure but to be reassured it’s worth an ask in case you need medication. I had a six mth delay waiting for appt until I asked GP for the test as I was getting more breathless.

My normal heart rate is between 80 and 99 but anxiety can put it way above that. If you are anxious about it ( I note that you take sertaline) then you will be far more aware of it especially when you lie down and hear it in your ears and that ultra awareness will cause anxiety which will increase your heart rate. It's a vicious circle. Ask your GP if he can arrange some sort of counselling to reduce your anxiety

As they say your heart is OK, do you think stressing about your heart is making your heart race? It can be a vicious circle. I can relate to that. I was told many years ago, in a routine medical, that there could be something wrong with my heart. Well, I then developed chest pains, breathlessness, and couldn't walk upstairs without nearly passing out. Then an ECG showed no problems and my cardiac symptoms disappeared immediately. I'm not saying this is what is happening to you, just that it happened to me. (It was not until many years later that I developed cardiac problems and that WAS due to stress - takotsubo cardiomyopathy. I do hope you will get some reassurance soon and begin to feel better.
