Lbbb hart problem
I've got right bundle branch block....it's always picked up when I have an ECG, the cardiologists and GP's I've seen are not in the slightest concerned about it, nor am I in all honesty.
Hi, I was diagnosed with Leftbbb in 2011 after routine ECG. I have never had symptoms and lived an active life, they said I could have had it since birth. But in 2022 i developed Atrial Fibralation and was given another echocardiogram where they then discovered HF with an ejection fraction of 26%. What I am saying is unless you have symptoms try and live your life without worry. I am up to now 5 months back in rythym after cardioversion and my EF is back up to 49% on all the meds. How long my kidneys and liver accept the cocktail of meds is in gods hands. Be positive RBBB will not kill you it’s what’s hiding behind it if anything is the worry good luck bridboy enjoy your life.
I was diagnosed with left bundle branch block in about 2007. I have no symptoms and like BridBoy it hasn’t bothered me at all. Last year it came up again when I was diagnosed with severe aortic valve stenosis. No suggestion the two were connected but surgeon said it increased the risk of me needing a pacemaker after surgery. I had surgery in June but did not need a pacemaker. I don’t think there’s any treatment .
I was diagnosed with one some 5years ago.
It was detected and then verified by a stress test.
I had an out of hospital cardiac arrest causing the electrical issue.
After testing, I am advised to keep my Hr below 130. It is only near max hr that issues occur and the rhythm changes.
In 5 years I had no issues!!
I have a left bundle branch block. It doesn't appear to bother me but I'm on optimum heart meds for other reasons. LBBB usually denotes an underlying heart problem but not always. Some have no symptoms, while others suffer syncope. These usually need a CRT device implanted. LBBB is seen on an ECG and does mask problems at times.
Hi, I'm the same age as you and I was diagnosed in September 2019. It started with blackouts but I'm reasonably well with the meds. I do still get out of breath and I can't walk more than a few yards. I have a rollator which means I have a seat when I need to rest. There are days when I get nausea sickness and feel generally unwell but it passes. I never was sporty so it hasn't affected me in that way and I'm able to enjoy my hobbies apart from cycling.Try not to let it get you down. I found it life changing in many ways but I eventually adapted. Just try to accept that you are a bit different to the old you and embrace this new life as best you can.
Best wishes for the future. 😊
I had LBBB first diagnosed in 2019, cardiologist letter just said he would see me again in a year. I wasn't made to think it was serious. We moved out of area in 2020, so no follow up - my fault I suppose, together with COVID. Last year I was scheduled to have a hip replacement in February (opted to go private due to long wait) ECG at pre-op assessment showed LBBB, op cancelled, urgent appointment made with cardiologist (private) who said I was in imminent danger of collapse. Put me on medication straight away and said I need to have CT and MRI scans urgently (private as NHS waiting list too long) and would probably need a pacemaker. Saw him again after the scans and a CRT-P pacemaker fitted in June (NHS ). Due to have check up at pacing clinic today. Lucky it was discovered, although I'm now high risk and hip op has to be done in NHS hospital so back on the long waiting list!
I should have mentioned my meds are bisoprolol, fruosemide, eplerinone and Secubitril /valartin (entresto is it's trade name) Entresto is really a wonder drug for LBBB and was only developed in 2015. Recently dapaglifozin has been added. This is a drug for diabetics. (I'm not diabetic) but apparently it is good for HF with LBBB. 😊
I noticed that you mentioned Entresto as a wonder drug for LBBB. My doctor told me several months ago that I have LBBB, but is not something to be concerned with as it will not likely affect me much.
I am taking the middle dose of Entresto because I had a low EF (30 - 35) -- it's now back to normal, but he wants me to keep taking it.
Would you tell me a little more about Entresto in relation to LBBB. Is this something that your doctor told you? Or you read it somewhere. Just curious ... tnx
I developed lbbb before my aortic valve replacement. I know it's there but I'm not aware of it. Causes no problems
I was diagnosed with LBBB a year ago. Had a 7 day holter monitor, an echocardiogram, and an MRI. No other underlying heart issues where found and I don't have any other symptoms. All I get is palpitations now and again. No meds. However they are going to give me another MRI soon to see if there are any changes. I think I may have had this issue for many years but it was never diagnosed as I never mentioned the palpitations before. I live a normal life and can do pretty much anything that my aging body allows. However it is good to have a thorough ongoing examination to check for underlying conditions.
When I was diagnosed with CHF back in 2014 I also had LBBB, my HF cardiologist suggested a CRT-D inplant to get my heart beating regular and within less than a year my LBBB was gone and my EF had improved to almost normal. The LBBB was what was making my heart weak is what I was told.
I agree with polenta I’ve had a CRT-D fitted as I was told I had LBBB over 13 years ago. It’s to do with the electrical system of the heart pumping. They didn’t do anything for me until I had syncopes over the last few years. Had very bad palpitations Bigeminy and low bp. Heart was pumping just under 35 ejection fraction so was told I had heart failure and must have a CRT-D fitted which was in August 2023. I had symptoms over the years but it didn’t really stop me from doing normal things until the last two years when I was getting worse. Country & seaside walks on holiday virtually stopped. Since the device I’m doing normal things again and can do a 40 minutes walk with my hubby and dog. Just watch your symptoms and make notes when you have them and what they are and feel like then you are well prepared to keep your doctor up to date. X
I have right branch bundle block with atrial enlargementOn heart failure medicine
I feel so blessed to have found this site
God bless you all
I gather LBBB is better to have than RBBB. I have LBBB, possibly as a result of an infection, and although at first I was getting odd irregular beats, that settled and I get no problems from it at all now. I was told not to be concerned about it, and may possibly have had it a long time gone undetected. So unless you are getting symptoms from it, you may not need to be concerned, and with time any electrical irregularites may settle.
Thank you all for sharing it has made me feel a lot better 😊
