had stent fitted last week . Have been on blood thinners and statin since , but wasn’t told to carry on with beta blockers or nitrate tabs . My pulse at the moment is only 59 which is low ish for me without beta blockers . Does this mean the stents not working properly ?

please contact the cardiac team at your hospital for information.
My take would be that the stent has opened out the artery in question and your heart is now able to work less to pump the same volume of blood so your heart rate has dropped. And a resting heart rate of 59 is not considered to be low. As I said on another post today my resting heart rate is between 50 to 55 and can drop as low as 42 when I am asleep, but my GP said not to worry, so I dont. But if you are unsure talk to a health professional, perhaps your cardio team, your GP, 111 ( if you must !) or the BHFHeart Helpline.
I agree with Lowerfield that 59bpm is not considered a low resting heart rate. Mine is a good bit lower than that.
You say, “but wasn’t told to carry on with beta blockers or nitrate tabs”. The way that is phrased implies a level of vagueness. Your discharge letter from the stent procedure should detail all the medication your cardiologist recommends. If it doesn’t please clarify with the cardiac team whether you should continue taking them, stop taking them or, more rarely, be taking them as required.
