I'm in my seventies and a few years ago my lifelong problems with acid indigestion suddenly got a lot worse one day after eating fish and chips but my experience is not as bad as yours. My doctor presctibed lansoprazole (15mg) and it worked at first but after a week or so it gave me a constant nausea. My doc changed the pill to omeprazole which was milder. After a much longer time this also caused nausea so he changed me to an even weaker one -esomeprazole. This lasted for several months before causing nausea. Rather than going again to my doc I just pause the dose for a day every week and so far so good.

PPI Pills
Hello
I am sorry to read you have struggled with PPI 's but looks like you have found a method now that is working for you which I hope continues
If for some reason it doesn't then I would speak with the Doctor again they have so many you can try x
sounds like you’re doing the right thing.
Members often seem to have to try a few of the ‘prazoles’ before finding one that suits them. I tried 4, and now very happy with esmeprazole. I think the GPs are used to running through a few.
Because I take clopodogrel omeprazole wasn't suitable for me. Was given lansoprazole but that gave me terrible problems and lots of time sat on the loo. After diacussions with the practice pharmacist I was switches to famotidine. Still get some gastric issues but liveable with and just about every med I'm on has that down as a pptential issue. Good luck
I take omeprazole, and forgot to take my dose yesterday. And didn't I suffer, with the acid. Think missing a dose depends on what you eat as well. And also not sleeping on your right side, like I did last night. Brought the acid straight up. But glad you found a compromise for your nausea, due to your tablets. Regards Dee.
