Hi Was on Amlopidine for raised BP but it made my ankle swell with fluid so changed to Ramipril which made me feel so dumbed down and negative like a zombie so Doc swapped to Candesartan

Felt better apart from initial sore throat and cold like symptoms

Really fed up with this as ongoing

after 5 weeks and wish it would go

Has anyone had this and will cold symptoms go away please

Hi, I was also on Ramipril after being diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. I was ok with

it apart from an annoying cough and itchy legs. I was also changed to candesartan. I agree with you about the cold like symptoms. I got up to 16mg, but then lately Ive been feeling really poorly. My other meds have been decreased and my bp and hr are both fine. I really can''t find much info on the side effects of candesartan and would really appreciate, like you, other people's opinion on this medication?? It's so annoying and confusing when you don't know what to do for the best??

Thank you very much for this Dembaba

You are right that it is frustrating and we don’t know what to do for the best

The meds have worked and my blood pressure was normal when I went to have it checked

Just wished my leg had not been affected by Amlopidine as I felt totally normal on it

I feel yucky on Candesartan and like having a cold and having to blow nose Does it get better or

do these symptoms remain

Thank you

I dont get the cold like symptom so much, I do go clammy and I don't know if that is to do with the weather or the medication?? To be honest, I think I would prefer to be on ramipril and put up with the itching and cough, cos I feel really rough on candesartan at the moment. It is so hard as to know what to do, the heart failure clinic isn't open here

and my cardiologist hasn't got back to me??

Well think you could use the dripping tap approach and contact your Cardiologist again and every so often till you get a reply It must be hard when they don’t reply

My consultant took me off Ramipril because it was affecting my kidney function. He increased my dose of Amlodipine to 10mg daily to reduce my blood pressure
