Happy Christmas Everyone. It's 3 months today since my bypass. I'm still on a slow road to recovery, wondering when I will feel normal! I have more pain in my sternum now than ever and I have just been referred to the breast clinic as I have swelling and a bump on the left boob! My GP says it could be related to the surgery but best to have it investigated.

I'm trying to remain optimistic!

Thank you all for your support! Sending love and good wishes to you all!

Hello :-)

3 months is still very early days I get pain still from time to time in my sternum and it has been over 2 years so I would say it is normal

There is every chance the lump is from the op but your Doctor is wise sending you to get it checked out

Recovery can be different for everyone you have to go at your own pace keep doing the breathing exercises and potter about rest when you feel you need to and slowly you will get stronger :-)

Whatever you have planned for today I wish you a Happy Christmas :-) x

Happy Christmas to you too Linda.

At some point after the holidays why not pop over to the Health Unlocked section where your possible new problem is discussed

I'm 2 months ahead of you Linda & it was around 2 months ago that my chest started easing up. I still have tenderness on the left side where I believe they took the artery for my bypass but I can live with that. We're all different & i suppose we just need to listen to our bodies & be patient in our recovery. I find at times it's 1 step forward & 2 back which i did find frustrating at times, now i just accept that's how it is. I hope all goes well with the breast clinic & it is down to the surgery. Pls let us know how you get on. Take care & be kind to yourself xx
