New Year greetings with sweet encouragement

I would just like to wish everyone on this site a Happy and healthy New Year and also offer some pleasant advice going forward! Having a good immune system is important in navigating the delights (not) of the British winter with its myriad colds and flu. I take (and enjoy) a teaspoon of Manuka honey each morning as part of my breakfast regime. Manuka honey has excellent anti biotic properties (it has held dental infections at bay in the past) but can be quite expensive. However at least one supermarket (Lidl) stocks jars at under £5 and I have found this to be effective in keeping me as free from colds and flu as is possible. Medicine doesn't always taste this good 😋.

Be sure it is manuka honey. Apparently, the UK alone sells more than NZ produces.

Quite so! And at less than a fiver a jar I can guarantee it won't have much manuka in it.

That is an interesting fact. I know the MGO score is probably not that high. Having said, however much Manuka there is in it, it seems to work, especially when I had a dental infection!

Thanks for that advice Classof1988. Unfortunately I have type 2 diabetes so have to steer well clear of any sweet food which has not been easy over Xmas! My son has a spoonful every day and he swears by it. HNY!
