I know a few people who have had abnormal tests and what they do is they give you an injection every so often or prescribe tablets for you.

my friend was diagnosed with this a few years ago. She has injections regularly to ensure she is well. She has no problem with them except that she knows when she’s ready for the next dose.

A few months before my HA & stents, when I was undergoing investigations for head rushes, tingling & exhaustion, they found I had low B12. (It's a shame the investigations didn't see that I was about to have a HA because of a blocked distal vessel! There's been no mention of a connection between my low B12 & blocked vessel)

I've had a B12 injection every 3 months for 9 months plus initial *loading doses.

The last injection was a month after my HA and didn't seem to negatively react with my heart & BP meds & gave me a much needed boost.

I was worried about it though & checked with my cardiologist that it would be ok to have before having it. He said it would be fine for me.

*The initial loading dose has you going in for an injection every few days for a couple of weeks and after that it's the maintenance dose every 3 months.

If you end up getting them, hope it helps you feel better.

Currently half way through a course of six B12 injections. Though the deficiency is not uncommon and at first sight appears pretty innocuous - unless treated, this can affect your heart health. Not only that but a lack of B12 can cause anemia, extreme tiredness, hair loss and many other symptoms.

You can also take B12 in pill form but I was told by my GP that the course of injections will help me to feel better much more quickly.

I then have to have top up injections at two or three monthly intervals.

I hope that this treatment is going to be a game changer for me as I have been feeling pretty run down lately.

I also hope you are doing okay.

Did you have the blood test after having B12 injections or taking B12 supplements, eating heavily fortified B12 foods, energy drinks or taking Nori or spirulina?

Not what you're looking for?
