There was some discussion of these recently. Some people were concerned about attending their GP practice or clinic in the current climate. Apparently some practices are making them available by prescription. It (vial and syringe) can then be collected/delivered - job done...

I got my B12 shot in the surgery last Thursday. Walked up at the appointed time, went in - place empty of people and most of the furniture, rang the bell that has been installed on the desk at reception - someone popped their head out from office, took my details and told nurse will be along shortly. 2 minutes later, nurse came out fully kitted out with PPE, called me through to her room, given B12 shot and back out the door. Quite reassuring to see the level of detail taken to make it as safe as possible.

Had a very similar experience at our surgery. I had expected them to send a perscription to the chemist.

How did you know that you needed b12 injections, l feel extremely tired all the time, it is different from fatigue, l was wondering if l might need these.

Hi

One of my blood tests last year came back showing a low red blood cell count, further tests showed I was low on B12. I started off having 6 injections over a 2 week period in November 2019, then a further injection every 12 weeks.

To be honest, I never felt any weakness or fatigue, which are the classic signs on B12 deficiency, but that may be more as a result of the life styles changes I've made after my heart attack.

Have a chat with your GP to see if you can get your red blood cell count checked.

Thank fully you did. Here some GPs are refusing to give them. Why they cannot use PPE is ridiculous.

I have had hospital appointments and a visit to GP surgery in the past month. All medical staff has full PPE. The only people with limited PPE were receptionists but 2m lines were marked out.

My understanding is some B12 injections have been delayed but not cancelled indefinitely.

No the nurses hurt me more and my bruises are bigger.

I leave them to put my cannulas in though 😉

I had to go DIY with them for as few weeks after surgery. The thought is worse than the deed!

Hi Michael Ref your B12 injections - My Husband has those every 3 months and was due one in April, like you, he didn`t want to go anywhere near the surgery, he rang them and they did a Prescription for B12 tablets for him, only 1mg, once a day. You could enquire about those maybe.

Regards

Hi I've been seriously low on b12 for a long time, I usually have injections every month, but due to the coronavirus my doctor has put me on Cyanovit-B12 1000microgram, I've got to take 1 everyday for 1 month, then 1 to he taken per month long term, I've only been on them 3 days and can already notice the difference, b12 injections didn't do anything for me

Beat this. Wife was due 3 monthly on 30th Apr. GP is in our shopping centre.

Report to side door (tradesman's) at 16:00 were Nurse in PPE will come outside and administer in the public carpark, in the rain as it happened.

Couldn't make it up. 🙄

I had my B12 injection, it was quiet straight forward. Nurse came with PPE kit on and got the job done.
