My cardiologist has changed my prescription from ticagrelor to something else (I think he said clopidogrel). Unfortunately between delays his end & now delays at the GP surgery the pharmacist still hasn't had the prescription.
I've got one day left of my ticagrelor and I've left messages with the GP & cardiologist this week to ask them this but don't hold out much hope of hearing anything till next week.
I was hoping I'd be able to go pick some up from the local hospital pharmacy or something to tide me over but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.
As I found out today that I've got borderline acute kidney injury, I'm feeling a bit unsettled about missing my drugs right now.
Any experience of missing your drugs for a few days, gratefully received!

These drugs are fairly important following a stent as they help minimise the risk of blood clots while the stent is still bedding into the artery. I'm sure it's a pain, but I'd put as much pressure as you can on the GP and cardiologist to keep the time you are without them to a minimum. Ensure you keep taking the aspirin.
After speaking to the GP surgery, I left a message with the cardiologist and within a few hours the GP surgery called me back saying they had the prescription. Early start tomorrow trying to get it fulfilled! If the pharmacy doesn't have them, I'm hoping they'll tell me how to get the prescription fulfilled at the local hospital.
