Saw my Cardiologist Today

Feel so much better as he takes time an care to answer questions and explain things. Typically, as well as having one branch that has completely occluded I have another branch that was partially blocked but is now clear. He reckons that both of these events caused the pains I was experiencing back in June/July. He also talked about bystander events and that he is happy with the occluded branch as it only supplys around 4% of blood to heart and at the moment is best left alone. He's also happy with the current med regime and also endorsed the pharmacist's plan for re-introducing statins. Going to keep eye on me and have me back in for a preventative clinc before Christmas. Didn't dismiss my mental state either which was good.

Great news. I'm sure you must feel relieved and I bet this will be a boost to your confidence and mental health as you move forward. Little steps and you will get there , take care , Bee

Sounds like a very informative and helpful meeting, Hrty - really glad it went well. It's always a good feeling when you get that much support and they take the time to actually listen to us and explain things if we've any worries. It's great when they address the anxiety side of things too and that they're going to keep an eye on how you get on with the statins. Doesn't sound as if your meeting could have gone any better!👍🏻😊 Carol

We always feel better after meeting with him. He even took time to look up the results of the kidney scan and 24hr halter test I had but not heard the results of.

Indeed it does. He does lots of sketching to try and explain what is going on and why he can or can't do certain things.

Sounds like a good meeting and very positive. May I ask, though, how does a once partially blocked branch become clear? I thought that although meds can prevent worsening of the clogging, there is no way to reverse the situation?

Dunno but he showed me the partially blocked artery on my angiogram in November (post HA) and then with the blood throwing it normally in the angiogram from July. I did read something earlier which suggested high doses of Atorvastatin, I was on 80mg to begin with, might do this. Mind you, he often comments on my "weird" anatomy and suggested this phenomenon was sokehow typical of me 🙃😄
