In spite of getting a stent four weeks ago I'm still getting angina symptoms.
Ever since my symptoms began last year I have noticed that they become more pronounced in cold air. For example today I took a long walk in summer sun and felt fine. Tonight I walked again in colder air and the symptoms reappeared.
Has anyone else experienced this cold air effect on angina? If so can it be treated? I read that cold air increases blood pressure. Perhaps I need stronger blood pressure tablets.

My angina is triggered by the cold as well. I usually cover my face with a scarf or wear a mask to prevent the cold from aggravating my angina too much. Do you have a GTN spray? This can also help alleviate the angina triggered by the cold.
I was advised, when i had my HA in November 21, that cold air entering the lungs could cause blood vessels to constrict around the chest area and therefore can lead to angina type symptoms.
At the time people were accustomed to seeing the use of face masks in the light of the situation surrounding "He who must not be named".
I was advised to use a face mask and/or a scarf to help to warm the air prior to it entering the lungs and this helped.
Yes, blood vessels will contract but there could be other things goping on as well.
Humidity has a big effect on the heart after about 60% Relative Humidity. At this time of year its invariably higher at night, both inside and outside the House. Add in high pollen levels due to luxuriant growth and lack of grass cutting by the council and you have a potent situation that may need watching.
Incidentally if you don't have a hygrometer you san see the RH in your area by googling weather forecast (for your town) and choosing the met office site. This has the facility to see RH hourly.
