Hi there help please !!: hi there 1... - British Heart Fou...
Hi there help please !!
You might not think the NHS ' don't know what they are doing any more' but it is in fact manned by health professionals at the sharp end who do their job, sometimes very specialised, day in day out, and in the main know far more about practising medicine than the vast majority of people on here who only have their own experience of heart related matters with which to relate to and are not qualified to offer medical advice and opinions. Nonetheless you are entitled to feel frustrated that your condition has not yet been fully diagnosed, and the time it is taking, but you can only do what you are doing by going back to them should you become ill again, in conjunction with waiting for your tests, although it is good to hear you believe you are improving. In the meantime you could have a chat with the BHF Heart Helpline nurse who might be able to provide an opinion on what is wrong with you and offer some comfort and advice
Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor primarily used to treat high blood pressure, but it's also used for angina (particularly in patients with high blood pressure).

Even though your meds are helping, your medical team will still want to find out exactly what the cause is, which can help you manage it in future. Thus the need for further tests. Some of those, like echos and stress ECGs, are non-invasive and not much of a bother. Even a CT angiogram is pretty minimally-invasive. But yeah, the waiting can still be stressful.
Did they give you any activity restrictions on your discharge? If not, you could call your cardiologist and ask, or the BHF nurse helpline might be able to provide guidance.
so is this could be why i am feeling better if it helps with angina ??
not allowed to lift heavy items and said have rest between doing jobs as i do get out of breath some times. thank you for your help.
There are different causes for angina, the medication you are taking treat the symptoms but probably not the cause - the doctors might be able to offer more effective treatment if they knew what is causing your angina, so they would like you to have tests to find out
I hope you get answers and more helpful treatment soon
thank you it is a very scary time and with my job as well not able to the things i was doing hoping my boss don't want to get rid of me as well my 3 young boys are worried as they seen me having to go hospital.
Hang in there. The stress does go down as you learn to live with your condition.
I was diagnosed with degenerative valve disease 20 years ago. Told I would need open heart surgery at some point. I had a yearly echo for the following 20 years, with some MRIs sprinkled in between, before things got bad enough for surgery. I was a ball of nerves for the first couple of echos; by the end they were like going for a teeth cleaning.
wow hope u r ok now tho and thank you
Good advice in the replies.I would only add you must find ways to reduce your anxiety as it doesn't help.
Only do as much physical activities as to not incur discomfort.
And always ask questions.
thank you all for your help
