Has anyone else having the problem of not been able to get their vital medicines?
I am on 60XL slow release Chemydur . Was told by boots chemist they are out of stock with both suppliers and told me to ask GP to get another brand. GP then says they do not know what to give me and to speak to cardiologist team. I spoke to Cardiology and they say it is a GP/pharmacy issue. I then speak to GP practice who are now looking into it as I wait over a week without this drug. Not suppose to suddenly stop these.
So I am quite breathless now and with angina getting worse and pretty fed up of going in circles.
Anyone else have this problem? I read on the net that there is a national shortage.
This country gets worse by the minute.

Over the years I have encountered problems obtaining some of my medications. It's got worse since we left the EU.
My local Pharmacist has to ring around the wholesalers to get a supply of my medications.
Isosorbide mononitrate and Diltiazem are both medications I can't do without.
A few months ago there were no supplies of my usual brand of Diltiazem.
I emailed my Cardiologist who prescribed an alternative brand, emailed my GP, who then texted me saying an e prescription had been sent to my local Pharmacy.
All sorted in an afternoon.
I am so fortunate to have a good GP and engaged Cardiologist.
Have you asked to speak to the duty doctor at your surgery?
Perhaps ask to speak to the Practice Manager and explain that you cannot go without the medication and need a new prescription asap.
I also have a months extra supply in reserve.
Have you tried ringing around the local independent pharmacies?
There are a lot of problems throughout the uk with the supply of meds.....and Boots is particularly bad.We are all going to have to get used to it .Milkfairy is right much of this stems from our withdrawl from the EU.But it is esp. bad if you are being sent from GP to cardio. and then back again. Sometimes a partner/wife/husband/friend can get results when the patient cannot.
Glad you could get them. I'm on Carmil too. There are supply problems all over the country according to friends. A few years ago before I went away for 6 weeks I asked for my meds 2 weeks early as I needed to take extra supplies away. About 9 months later before I went away again I asked for my medicines early, so after that I always have a spare months supply
