I am new to this journey and it’s been nearly three weeks since my hospitalisation for three days while doctors sorted me out and got the fluid sorted and the meds I need
I’m waiting on echocardiogram results which may or may not indicate cause
my Gp told me about Takuduso syndrome or broken heart disease -I looked it up but don’t really understand it
it presents as heart failure but usually there is complete recovery
My question is I seem to be having really good days where I feel good and can manage a seven km walk without getting breathless then the next day I feel terrible - lots of nausea and dizziness and need to rest
Is this usual - prior to three weeks ago I was fit did ; to 5 10km walks a week plus swim most days - now I don’t know if it’s mental or just I can’t quite do that as before
keen to hear ideas and advice - I’m floundering around
see my doctor and my heart health nurse next week so have lots of questions

I think that is the secret, ask lots of questions and don't move onto the next one until you are happy with the answer. Write them down and make Sur they listen to you, explain everything, how you physically feel as well as the mental feelings, how you are coping { or not } with everyday living.
Broken heart syndrome is very real and can manifest real physical problems.
Good luck, we are here to help when ever you need us
Its tough when you just don't understand whats happening and to you, and whats caused it, Most of us just want to get on with our lives….., get back on our journey, and get the best out if it, ,
Its easy to say, but do try to be patient…..you should get much more clarity when you meet your GP and nurse next week
Your fitness should really go in your favour, and your motivation also, to get back on ‘your journey’.
Its hard to answer to answer your exact question.
I used to get similar stop/start weeks, where I did a lot, then lots if symptoms, exhaustion, and just needed a day to recover.
But more recently I have had long stretches of being pretty active, doing a lot more most days.
But its taken quite a while to get to this. Quite a few interventions were needed and quite a lot of meds juggling. I had to be patient.
But I think a huge factor was getting much better at pacing myself and finding less physically intense activities, which I learned to love! .
