I am awaiting investigation for CPVT, doctors believe it is more than likely I have this but my appointment is not until a November. I am due to go on a once in a lifetime trip in august and no travel insurance will cover me due to it being undiagnosed. Has anyone had this issue and how was it resolved? Thanks

I’ve been in a similar situation before. It is not uncommon to be denied cover for a condition that is still under going investigation. I think I called over 40 travel insurance providers at one point, private, independent and public and all of them said the same thing which is that I would not be covered for an undiagnosed condition which is still being investigated.
Unless you can get a concrete diagnosis beforehand, in which case you will be covered.
If you do decide to travel, it will be at your own risk.
I’m sorry this isn’t the news you wanted to hear as I know you mention it’s one in a lifetime trip.
Might be worth speaking with your cardiologist, confirming that you are okay to fly and whether they can provide any additional information for travel insurance cover.
thanks so much! It’s completely crazy that all of my letters say ‘most likely CPVT’ but I’m having the battle of getting a diagnosis before flying! I’m hoping to speak to the cardiologist next week who can hopefully provide some clarity.
Hi I don't know anything about your condition (I had to Google it) maybe it would be worth speaking to your consultant about your holiday and if he says you are fit enough to go he could give you a letter to that effect and that could make all the difference to travel insurance companies. A few years ago I was on the transplant list and I did manage to get cover to go to Spain with full cancellation I am trying to remember the company, it might have been staysure, going through a broker might be worth a try, I hope you can get insurance cover and have a fab holiday
My son was diagnosed aged 11 with CVPT he is now 21. The defining test was on the treadmill, with a contolled 'exercise stress test' whilst connected to heart monitor & BP machine, this is where his arrhythmia showed itself. He takes Nadalol & Flecainide dailyHappy to support with further detail.
