“Cardiac arrest” sounds quite appropriate for a breakfast/brunch like that 😂
😱 oh my goodness, sounds like the gut buster Harry Ramsdens used to put on their menu, not sure if they still do! Guaranteed indigestion !!
Hello
For those that have lost loved ones to a cardiac arrest or those with heart issues I wonder how funny they would find their wording
I can see why it would be a cardiac breakfast though
Hope your appointment went well x
Yes, I agree!Surprised they can advertise it like that tbh.
My appointment is in 1 hours time so 🤞
Good luck and hope you let us know how you get on I have a feeling everything will go well x
Surely you didn't eat all that lot Ian, I certainly couldn't, nor you, perhaps I could eat one sausage and half a burger at the most.
Well hello Alan 😬Didn't know you were on this forum ?
Obviously you are 😂
And no !.... I had beans on wholemeal toast, I'm a good boy 😁
Haha 🤣🤣🤣
The mushrooms are fresh & free refills of tea, what more could you want! 😂 As an advert though it's done its job, it's caught someone's eye & now it's being discussed. Someone will no doubt enjoy it, though what sort of quality it would be, all that for £15 🤷 My husband who's a SCA survivor thought it was funny, especially the free of charge phone call 😂, though to my knowledge I don't think he ever ate anything like this 🤔
That struck him as hilarious 😂😂 I think you have to have a sense of humour otherwise you can be completely overwhelmed by it all. I'm sure someone will eat that & enjoy it 🤢 but that picture would put me right off 🤮😂
I would definitely go for it the toast was wholemeal and the beans were reduced sugar and salt and I could forgo the sausages, bacon, egg, burgers and black pudding.
Might accept the chips (need some carbs) and the beans if they are reduced salt and sugar.
It's a good warning title isnt it, but I wonder how many people do actually order it to eat.
You can't help but smile at it really 😁
Priceless! Reminds me of those mega eat all you can mixed grill meal challenges you used to see in the late 70's early 80's
I think if i saw that sign it would definitely put me off even attempting it!Interested to know, don't peeps on here have a full English though? I have at least one per week. Obviously not to the humongous size as above but nothing wrong with grilled lean bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms (dont do sausage or black pudding!)? As a type 2 diabetic beans on toast are worse for me than bacon and eggs.
Once a month or so, I work in a hotel with an overnight stay, and I admit to sneaking in a small cooked breakfast. Not quite this Cardiac Arrest though 😀
👍🤣🤢
🤣😂👍
Oh I do hope that lot is cooked in beef dripping and not olive oil. 😯
Which reminds me, I've not been to the Black Country Museum for several years - that's where there is a fish and chip shop that cooks with beef dripping and it tastes scrummy. You are then forced to eat salads (no cheese or meats) for the next month!
How ridiculous. That sort of thing just encourages over eating. No wonder there are so many fat (sorry plus sized) people around.
Sounds about right!
This is one of UK's biggest problem, diet.
Hospitals still serve rubbish food, they have vending machines selling crisps and chocolate. They sell muffins and cakes to raise money for Cancer, how's that for an oxymoron. I mean can we be anymore backwards? Our governments are so quick to tell us to wear masks and wash our hands but I have not see one major campaign that encourages and pushes healthy eating. One day we will look back and say what were we doing? Like this photo which wasn't so long ago.
You are so right. There was some talk about the possibility of Jamie Oliver getting involved as he did with school food, not sure if it came to anything.
I was in A and E for 17 hours this week, very hungry and needing to take medication. The only food in the vending machine was, as you say, crisps and chocolate bars. Luckily a nurse offered me a sandwich, otherwise I would have had to take heart medication with crisps or chocolate bar!
Used to call there regularly on our Sunday morning ride outs so very familiar with the cuisine. Never tried the cardiac arrest but I often wonder which was the safest, the motorcycle riding or the cardiac arrest!😂
Oh my, I'm grinning but I can imagine how absolutely dreadful I'd feel if I were to polish that lot off, it does nothing for my taste buds - if I escaped a heart episode I'd still have to go to A&E!Glad to hear you had a cleaner, healthier breakfast and hope the appointment went well.
I’m sure that those eggs are eyes, they’re looking at me sadly saying ‘ don’t eat me, don’t eat me’.
Just eat the beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. You'll be fine!!😜
I can see that extra cup of tea being needed to wash that lot down! Yikes.
Someone in our village F B group regularly posts photos of his meals and every time I reply "Heart attack on a plate". He simply doesn't get it.
My son recently spent 6 months in the USA and his biggest concern was that portion sizes there are all like that
😂😂😂!!!! xxxx
Oh my goodness just the thought of that makes me feel I’ll. Hope your appointment went well 😊
You disappeared from couchto5k what’s happening ……although I don’t reply much I like reading and keeping up to date with what’s going on. Hope you are keeping well.
Hi IanSorry to hear you've had an event and joined the BHF club. I checked back to see what happened and it sounded quite traumatic to say the least. I was touched by the post extolling the virtues of C25K/Bridge and the level of fitness assisted your treatment on the day and your recovery.
I was very greatful for your sensible advice through my own recovery time on C25K/Bridge following a stroke 15 months ago.
Today was my first anniversary from progressing to Parkrun and I've since completed 28 runs and volunteered too. The running community has been brilliant for my recovery and my cardiovascular fitness has improved immensely.
BHF can offer great support especially when you have a specific question and need to benchmark your own situation.
I'm sure you'll be positive. I was sorry to hear you were discharged to no community support. You may remember my experience was similar following acute treatment outside my own area. Health Unlocked really helped fill the gaps.
Although I have been inactive for a few months I have found it very helpful following a sort of eventual catch up in determine my stroke some 15 months after the event.
Good luck with your rehab. No pain, no pain and very much at a conversational pace!
Cheers

Hi Nigel!Thank you for your reply here !
And yes, quite a trying time to say the least .
However , going ok now thanks .
Hope it is good with you ?
I ended up with good support from Wolverhampton where I was treated , but not so much from my local hospital unfortunately.
Doing fine now , covering between 8 and 10,000 steps a day , I'm running again re doing C25k, currently just started week 4 this morning.
I'm not posting on the running forum though as I decided to leave the Admin team after some disagreements with 2 other admins on there !
I have since been blocked on the forums by admin , so they are now just read only boards for me 😐
I am however posting on 'active 10'
Thank you for your kind words .
Look after yourself!
Regards, Ian
