Feeing calmer now

Well after a very stressful night and my heart rate going up to 170 for an hour I have some good news. I don’t have to pay for any of my care. Also I got a letter from Newcastle freeman hospital, and I start my transplant assessment in four weeks. I have very mixed feelings about it 🤔😱

Wow Tori, so you had all that worry for nothing! Good to hear though.

Re the transplant assessment, do you know what that entails?

Yes it Involves a nice barrage of four day tests including a heart catheter lung tests and time on an exercise bike

That’s great news Tori I was getting very hot under the collar on your behalf! I can understand why your nervous about your transplant assessment, why not speak to Thanksnhs char is 6 months on from her transplant and you could hear from someone who knows exactly what you are going through. It’s such a big thing you are facing but if you have it done you will get your life back.

Hugs and best wishes Pauline

Good news Tori on both counts, I am glad you have calmed down now so I can calm down too, I was really livid on your behalf. I understand the mixed feelings you have (I don't know how I would feel in your place) but is there any alternative. You are such a brave beautiful girl and we are all rooting for you. Take care. Ruth xx

This is such a relief for you and your family . Thank goodness .

That's good news! They had a bit of a nerve asking for payment in the first place - at least I can calm down now (I had visions of me hitting someone with a big stick on your behalf!!).I hope you get your questions answered about the transplant. Surely it will give you a new lease of life? Ask if there is anyone you can talk to who's been through what you're going through.

Sending all my love and hugs. Jan xxxx

Progress X 2. I hope your heart failure nurse will be supportive of you for your transplant assessment, you need a mentor to walk this path with you and someone who understands you and what support you need. I'm pleased you got the hospital that you wanted and I'm super pleased about your care costs but cross they got it wrong in the first place 😡. Too much worry!I agree with 080311 to chat with Thanksnhs who has already not long ago travelled this path.

We on this forum will all be travelling with you virtually and as always sending love and hugs to you xxxxx

Thank you I’m terrified and knowing I’m not gonna be able to have any of my family there when I’m in hospital is really not helping xxxxx

Hi buddy2blue 🤗, so glad you are feeling calmer, what a relief to get that mix up sorted out, sending you a big hug, will be thinking of you, hope you catch up on your sleep tonight xxx

Read this after your previous post. Good news about care, shame they out you through that in the first place. All the very best of luck with the assessment.

Social Services should receive a strongly worded letter from you (by post with proof of receipt so they can't later claim they never got it) denouncing the horrific stress they put you and your family through the past two days. What they did was unconscionable. Good to hear you're not having to cope with money worries now but I'd insist on it being in writing, me.

Great news about the transplant assessment - they'll surely talk with you about any ambivalence you're feeling and that will help you with choosing yes/no.

Naturally most people are going to urge you to go through with the transplant especially as you are so young and we've all taken you to our hearts - but after all is said, it is your choice and we'll be here for you no matter which choice you make.

They just don't care about anyone when they make these wrong decisions. If you need medical care you do NOT have to pay. SO pleased it's sorted. Hope all goes well re the transplant.

I am so pleased to read that common sense has prevailed.

I agree with Sunnie if you can I would write that strongly worded letter!

Good luck for your surgery. Many members of the forum are collectively behind you thinking positive thoughts on your behalf
