Breathing problems from time to time
Hi foxglove
I’m sorry to hear about these new, worrying symptoms you are having.
My mum used to have very similar symptoms, on rest and awake until she was diagnosed with sleep apnea. She now has a CPAP machine and it has improved these whistling sounds which you speak of.
When are you experiencing these symptoms? Is it consistently there throughout the day, during rest, or exercise?
Tos
Thanks, affects me usually early morning hours. Usually lasts i- i and a half hours but last attack lasted 5 hours ,wore me out but kind neighbour made me ring 111 who advised A&E not much use as I was improving when I got there Oxygen levels perfect and lung s no fluid so I'm desperate for cardio appt as it's scary when it happens esp. if it lasts a while. I don't know how I'd cope without caring neighers! (I'm on my own)
Hi foxgloveSo sorry to hear of the breathing issues your having. As tos92 says have they checked to see if it's asthma as that can be really bad when it's first diagnosed. Hope you get on well with your appointment keep us updated with how you get on.
Two docs say NOT asthma or OCPD and believe me I've got my list of QS ready for cardiac doc! Will keep you updated
Oh wow. Breathing sounds bad so definitely heart then hope all goes well for you at your appointment. 👍😉. I had a similar issue actually erm few years back I went to A&E because I was gasping for breathe when I first woke up in the morning literally first breathe I took couldn't. They kept saying theres no wheezing in your lungs so must be your heart and it turned out I had a major asthma attack, chest infection and caught pneumonia which really messed with my heart 💔. Sounds strange but could it be b12 defincey, I had a few issues with that and it was causing me to get sooo out of breathe just from getting up from sitting. Anway hope all goes well with your appointment. Look forward to your update 😉
How reassuring for you to have good neighbours, being on your own. I can understand why this is scary. It sounds like you need a good conversation with your doctor about it. They've obviously ruled one thing out but it sounds like they need to explain what they think it is and how best to treat it. Can you book yourself another appointment? Maybe go with a list of questions. You're not pestering, you are entitled to understand what's going on for you. And how you can best manage it. Let us know how you get on!
Well done. Hope it goes well for you! 🌸
