Fear symptoms returning

Started exercising which I love 3 times a week. (Diagnosed systolic heart failure severe in December moved to moderate March). B/p getting lower and lower after exercise. 83/58. This week B/p gone to 130/79 but accompanied by discomfort in left breast which is relieved with top dose of Entresto always at tea time. I thought it was muscle ache but felt relief from entresto so maybe heart! Any thoughts?

Hi Ang5b

Have you been considered for angina?

bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

You say that you feel discomfort in your left breast. Is this with, or without exercise?

I’ve not heard of BP getting low after exercise. I have however, heard of BP rising during exercise. Either way, I think it would be wise to have a conversation with your GP of cardiologist so that they can investigate the symptoms further.

All the best.

hi thank you for replying. It’s without exercise at moment. Although just walked to shop and have it now. It feels like a bruised area! Then goes off after about an hour if entresto! (Unless that’s in my head). I don’t feel ill and my breathing is fine. Yes it is true my Bp drops after exercise. Thank you for replying. Will speak to cardiac nurse.

Dear Ang5b

Do you use a GTN spray? I am on the high dose of Entresto and it does nothing for the pain that I have.

I would report this to your Dr urgent as it seems to happen after exertion along with your blood pressure jumping around, are you taking your statins regularly ?.

Whatever is going on is a concern to you and needs to be addressed.

Take care and please keep us informed

Hello Ang. My arteries are clear but they still give me a GTN spray to use when I get chest pain while they investigate my symptoms. It actually does the trick for my pain but leaves me with a throbbing headache for the rest of the day 😏.Hope you get sorted

My BP is generally low and drops even lower with exercise too. I get angina occasionally, it can be with or without exercise, sometimes stress brings it on. It feels like someone poked me and it's a bruise feeling, sounds similar to what you describe. I wear a GTN patch, which controls it, unless I forget to put it on! Also have the spray if I need it. The angina itself isn't accompanied by anything else, my breathing and heart rate are usually fine, its just I feel what I call a 'poky' sensation. My dr said people can feel it differently, it feels and can present differently in different people.

I'd say definitely see the GP or cardiac nurse and describe what's happening. But if you get the sensation and it doesn't go away, you should ring and seek medical advice right away.

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s really helped x

Hi. I get heart pains daily. Sharp ones, sometimes achy ones. With and without symptoms. I have had them checked out and nothing to be found. They say its possibly due to the heart failure itself or the scar on my heart from the heart attack. Damaged muscle type feeling. Quite like any muscle that is damaged, it aches and pains as it is healing. I read the heart muscle repairs awfully slow at 1% per year so its scars and doesnt heal like other muscles so its maybe linked to this.
