Im a little concerned. My husband started entresto 6 weeks ago and his dose is now half Of What it should be. But - and here is my worry - his BP Must come up to about 100 before they increase his entresto to Max ( where it has good effect)
Why does this take so long? Is that normal?.. or is his heart not responding well to the drug?..( and hence low BP..) could it be hus heart is already too week?.. his EF was 30 in January..
Anyone??
SO grateful for replies, experiences...🙏🏻

My husband was put on Entresto about a year ago. They started him on the full dose when it should have been done in steps.
Long story short, he could get out of bed and slept all day, which was totally out of character for him. After 10 days of steadily going down hill the doctor took him off the med and things returned to “normal”. In researching the medication it seems, in my opinion, that younger patients do much better with Entresto than older folks. My husband was 82 when he took the first dosage.
The good news was he was fitted with a PM and that made all the difference for him. The day after the procedure he got out of bed and said “Wow, I feel great”.
Thank you so much for sharing. I cannot express How grateful Iam for the fact that people like you take the time to reply.. that one is not alone in a situation like this means so much. ❤️
I am struggling to get past the starter dose of Entresto. My BP drops to the 80's when I try to increase it. two things i have been told:-
1. Even the smaller dose will have a positive effect.
2. My body could take up to a year to get to the stage where I can increase it.
Very frustrating. Have you access ti a Cardiac Nurse - if not please consider it.
Thank you so much! We do have access to a cardiac nurse, but once my husband is there it seems he forgets to Ask about some Of the things that Are bothering him / us... those things you told me Are really helpful!! Thank you!🌸🌸
