bigger legs : mitral valve replacement... - British Heart Fou...
bigger legs
is it fluid?
I had this two years ago unrelated to valve replace. but it was only legs and thighs that swelled up. Spironolactone shifted it very fast and it never came back.
Can you get fluid build up in your thighs? Cause I'm beginning to think I do I'm quite slim but the only part that is big is my thighs 🤔😆
yes..I am also quite slim but it was thighs and legs that swelled up with fluid. None that was obvious elsewhere. Spironolactone got rid of it literally overnight!
Woah how do I know if it is fluid build up, I am going to doctors tomorrow cause my belly is so bloated all the time getting so fed up. 😭😅😜
Hi....I had mitral and tricuspid valve repairs 7 months ago. Have you noticed getting more breathless on exertion and a faster heart rate as well?. This happened to me 3 months after my op ......I ended up back in hospital. Not saying this will happen to you but anyone who has had, or still has a heart problem, it's always best to get swelling checked out. It's most probably nothing to worry about but worth a call at least to the doctor just to check. X

Fluid Retention in my legs is one of the main things the HF nurse checks at appointments
My mam had miteral valve replacement and single bypass in December. Having trouble with swollen legs. Everything else is fine, her scars, heart rate , BP etc.She thought it could be lack of exercise as pain in her upper leg is holding her back she feels. Xrays ok. Its become a vicious circle. Really getting her down. Appt with doc this week. Hopefully get things sorted
