I have not long started this and had 2 small glasses of red wine and feel nausea with it. Is this drug not meant to be mixed at all?

Dapagliflozin and alcohol. Whats your experiences? Is this ok to drink and take?
Along with a few other medications I am also taking Dapagliflozin , I regularly drink alcohol and have never felt nauseous. But I suppose things can effect different people in different ways.
Apparently alcohol in moderation and Dapagliflozin can be taken together.

But if you are taking other medication as well there might be a reaction.
You could talk to a pharmacist .
But if you think alcohol causes a reaction then you may have to cut it out. What about low or zero alcohol wine?
I am on dapa, middle dose Entresto, bisoporal and spiranolactone. My cardiologist told me alcohol is fine on special occasions. I have had wine even while still on a few more meds and had no problems.
Yeh i do enjoy 1-2 glasses of red on evening several times a week. The only thing that has changed this week is starting Dapa and also splitting Bisoprolol tablet into a morning and evening dose (so could be this then, might keep that for the morning only). Thanks
I took dapagliflozin for a year in addition to the usual post-bypass meds. All seemed to go well (no issue with red wine !) until a regular blood test revealed a greatly increased red blood cell count which had caused a thickening of my blood. My blood thinning meds (rivaroxaban) had been overwhelmed by the dapagliflozin, but after ceasing dapagliflozin all quickly returned to normal.
It is interesting that the standard instructions for dapagliflozin state that an increased red blood cell count is a “common” side effect. Clearly, the message for all who need to keep their blood thinned is to have regular blood tests !
Interesting thank you. Noted. I am on apixban.
I've not noticed any such reaction.
