Post-Tavr - ok to eat garlic and drink garlic tea?

Hello,

My father is about one year post-Tavr. We've heard that fresh garlic is anti-bacterial and anti-viral and were thinking it might be good to be eating a fresh garlic clove to strengthen immunity against covid. As garlic is supposedly a blood thinner or something like that, would it be safe for my father who is post-Tavr and still hypertensive (he currently takes an aspirin a day as blood thinner) to drink garlic tea (one crushed clove of garlic steeped in a glass of hot water) or one clove of garlic (minced) each morning? Is there any risk or danger to this in light of his Tavr procedure a year ago? Also, does anyone have any experience in drinking garlic tea on a regular basis which they could share? Thanks, and look forward to hearing from you.

I had a Triple heart bypass 5 yrs ago and another heart attack a year ago and

had 2 stents fitted. I take no drugs whatsoever. I know this is unique. I did agree

to having the minimum dosage whilst in hospital. For 50 yrs I have taken natural

supplements. Garlic has always been my No.1. My partner grows it on his Allotment. I have a Prestige steel squeezer, and have 1-2 cloves (with milk, orange juice, or other), every 2-3 days, although every day would be better. It `thins the blood'. I have been as fit as a fiddle after both operations, - out both times in 3 days, driving at 6 wks and painting my partner's sheds at 6 wks. I do take several other supplements instead of drugs, Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Vitamin E, Oil of Evening Primrose, Kelp, Cod liver oil capsules, and Turmeric. Its a wonder I don't rattle when I walk! I am 75 yrs young! I eat like a horse, wholegrains and lots of fresh vegetables from the Allotment! Lots of fruit. You must however consult

your doctor. I never did, as I have been taking natural products all my life.

Most medical professionals are totally opposed to natural products. It's my body

and natural God given herbs etc. have been given for our health. It has worked for me. Most drugs are made by Chemical factories. I don't want that in my body.

Thanks for sharing that. I also believe nature can supply many amazing things for health. It's great but astonishing you're not on any drugs, especially after your heart surgeries. How has your blood pressure been? Any challenges with hypertension?

Covid is a virus not a bacteria so medical and homeopathic antibiotics don’t help

I don't think eating/drinking garlic will do him any harm in moderation, and it will certainly help with social distancing as no one will want to go near him! I very much doubt that it will have any effect whatsoever on coronavirus though.
