This afib of mine/ ours.! Has just proved how unpredictable it can be. For a good while now Iv been afib free and I’m really happy, apart from the the week long ectopic burdenI got in December which was very annoying and distracting.! But Iv had a lot going on lately and a lot times not to plan which of course causes stress, worry, strong emotions etc. but my heart hasn’t missed a beat and I’m curious as to why it’s behaved.? The only thing Iv done which could( hopefully) be the answer is get plenty of sleep.!! Iv gone to work, come home, and then had early nights.
Iv been averaging 9 to 10 in bed. So what do I do.? keep on sleeping like a door mouse and see how it goes or risk developing something else because of lack of mobility as Iv read too much sleep can be bad as well.!!!! Can’t win.

I don’t have any personal experience with AFIB but I just wanted to reach out and say that sounds great that you haven’t experienced any episodes recently even with all the increased stress and additional factors you’ve been experiencing.
Personally I really struggle with less than 9 hours sleep and average about 10/11 a night and I still feel tired most working days 🤷🏻♀️
It always seems too much of anything can be bad for you and it’s all about balance - I guess it’s just working out what balance is right for you. Good luck, I really hope things continue to go well for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thankyou Mumma. i too still feel a little tired too actually even though I’m sleeping more but it seems to be helping the afib so it must be doing something.👍x
I also suffer from AF and have done ever since I had open heart surgery but it comes and goes and can hit me when I am least expecting it for no apparent reason. My heart rate fluctuates all the time.
I have permanent Afib and have done for some time. I only get 4-5 hours of sleep a night and that has been the case for many years. Last month I went on a cruise, whilst on holiday I suddenly felt very unwell, the world spun, I lost vision and my hearing was distorted. It only lasted a very short time and afterwards I felt fine. Imagine my surprise to discover later that day that I was back in normal sinus rhythm! I remained in sinus until the end of the cruise but the minute I got home the AFib returned and remains. This is certainly a strange condition! I was sleeping better whilst away but only because I was taking sleeping tablets, which I can’t take on a regular basis.
