Try one of the brokers who specialise in insuring people with underlying health conditions. I tend to use one called 'PayngTooMuch.com (I know . . . Tacky name 😖)
Pretty much like a regular comparison site - you answer a bunch of questions, but with the focus on declaring known medical conditions. This generates a list of insurers that would cover you.
Other brokers provide a similar service.
Simples see!
Hope this helps
Hi, this question gets asked quite a lot and my travel insurance recently withdrew its product so I needed to find a new one. I clicked on the little search icon at the top of the page, it looks like a magnifying glass 🔍 then entered travel insurance. I looked through all the previous posts and made a list. There were about 7 or 8 repeatedly recommended. Then I hit the interwebby ( not literally though). Good luck with your search.
I'd wait until 6 to 8 weeks after your ablation before applying. I was uninsurable after my stents were put in for 6 weeks. You should then be able to get insurance through a specialist insurance like staysure, avanti or any other that is listed here
I went to money saving expert and did a price comparison, opting for an insurance broker that caters to people with health conditions. Paid a fortune for a week though :/
Hi. I have really complex heart conditions along with stage 3 kidney disease and insulin dependent diabetes.
I was refused travel insurance from the operator I purchased my holiday from.
So I just purchased annual travel insurance from StaySure, a company someone on this site suggested a couple of years back
And it was way less than I imagined it would be.
I did it all online, took about 10 mins.
A tip someone gave me was to buy your travel insurance well before your trip starts, in case you get poorly prior too and have to cancel. Apparently if you have it starting on 1st day of travel, you won't be covered for cancellations.
