Hi I had a mitral valve repair and triple bypass 12 years ago. I have now been diagnosed with a severe leaky valve. My cardiologist says surgery after several usual test my surgeon says it’s not too bad. I’m awaiting a BNP blood test. This is very stressful with contradictory opinions

Hello
When I had an angiogram along with other tests my Cardiologist said it looked like I needed a triple Bypass
Then what happens here is that the Cardiologist sends all the results over to the Surgeon who seems to have the final say if they think it needs to be done which in my case the Surgeon did say yes
So I wonder if something similar happens with how it works in your case maybe the Cardiologist thought it should be done but for whatever reason the Surgeon disagrees but what you do need is an explanation as to why the difference of opinion between them both and I would if you have not already ask for an appointment to speak to your Cardiologist and hopefully they will explain it all to you
Please let us know how you get on x

Thank you for your reply I’m due to see the surgeon following my BNP results. Then I want answers I can’t go on like this. Too stressful not knowing what is going to happen
