Hi, I have coronary heart disease with one stent. This was done about 5 years ago. Recently getting worried again as few tight chest episodes and some palpitations and sometimes heart feels really shaky, like goes crazy and after 3-5 mins it calms down. I am seeing GP this week as starting to worry about my heart again. Anyone get this weird heart shaking thing?

Yeah I had this for about 3 days started on boxing day last and I had the worst headache the whole time then suddenly went away, I have got VT and I'm on verapamil 40mg x2 and still that happend, are you on any meds for your palpitations . Hope it's nothing to serious and all the best at the GP.

Hi. I get a cluster of palpations and get this overwhelming feeling that my hearts stopped or gone bad. Sinking feeling. Heart jitters but only for less than 10 seconds id say. Horrible when it happens but feel ok. Bad aniexity afterwards for 10 mins.

Although i have started this year off with more skipped beats than usual. Feeling of heart coming out through my neck. Heart rate and pressure all good but those skipped beats with its sinking feeling isnt nice. Got them checked out and they said were fine.

Heart failure sucks though!

I’ve been getting the same! Always had the off skipped beats but 3 days in a row when walking my dog my heart went all out of sync and fluttered for about 10 seconds followed by a load of skipped beats for about 30 seconds then went back to normal. Horrible! Like you said a sinking feeing and pure panic. I’ve been scared of it happening for a whole week now but I’ve started taking magnesium and haven’t had any, wether it is actually the magnesium or they’ve just stopped anyway. I’m sorry to say this but I’m quite glad to know someone else has had this!

It's all quite scary eh. We must tell doctors though. I've got an appointment now with the hospital... Trouble is, you talk yourself out of it. Like... It's just muscle pain or indigestion..

yes I know, I’ve had 3 echos (I have 5 yearly ones because a family member has a bad heart condition) 24 hour monitors, a recorder box etc. no concern about anything, but these cluster ones are horrible. Because they come out of nowhere!

Yes i have had this since my 20s. It is scary when it happens. I actually had it yesterday morning when i was waiting to go to a family members funeral. I was sat in the car and it felt like it had literally stopped beating for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then it beated powerfully and had a flushed feeling rush to my head. I do think it is just a cluster of ectopic together. Heart just flutters to get back into sync. I will mention to the cardio when i see them in May. I think i have before and they said its pretty normal as such...

Yes,Symptoms got worse and more frequent for me.

Doctor asked "does it feel like an old diesel tractor engine rattling about?"

Turned out to be AF for me.

Sounds very much like Atrial Fibrillation, where the electrics of the heart malfunction ,usually top left chamber of the heart. Excellent forum here on Health Unlocked. It is not fatal when controlled. Various treatments, medication, lifestyle changes, caution around extreme exercise, interventions such as ablation proceedure.

Main risk factor is stroke,as the quivering sction can pool blood,so if you score enough on Chadsvac scale you should take anti coagulants.( wrongly called blood thinners often)

It is a common arrythmia.

Best people to be referred to are Electrophysiologists. They are cardiologists with specialism.

GP knowledge can be patchy so persist in asking for referral.

Im not a medic of course.
