I’ve got the Kardia one else machine , and I have serve anxiety regarding my heart I’ve had many ECGs and also a Eco & stress test all come back normal! But I tested myself on the Kardia machine last night as I was feel bit dizzy & it said I had sinus rhythm with wide QRS I went into panic mode and sent the ECG to one of the paid cardiologist and they said it was nothing to worry about as it wasn’t a real reading “RECORDING ARTIFACT prevents reliable interpretation. Consider repeating EKG.”
So I did it again and it was a normal sinus rhythm.
But I’m still so freaked out and thinking I’m something is wrong with my heart .. has anyone had this happen to them with the Kardia Machine ? Should I trust what the doctors are saying and calm down?
Thank you!

Hi, I have a Kardiamobile single lead device, normally showing normal sinus rhythm but after contracting covid two years ago reported tachycardia. Booked GP appointment and referred me to cardiology for halter monitor and echocardiogram, by this time tachycardia had calmed down and was only intermittent. Then I started to notice different trace on Kardiamobile device, some negative pulses, not being a medical person I was concerned and didn't know what it was. Took printouts of trace to cardiology appointment, he said it was nothing to worry about, that they were PVCs/ectopics, which had shown on halter monitor results but as they were only 3500 in 24 hours, did not highlight a problem. He seemed very impressed that I was using this device and I had recorded the results. Offered me Beta blockers but I decided not as I have seen so many problems about side effects on this site.
I suspect when the report said "Recording artifact prevents reliable interpretation." it meant that something near the Kardia was interfering with it.When I use my Kardia I make sure the only thing near it is the phone I'm using to record the ECG. It could even be atmospheric.
Try to be reassured that the full medical tests have not shown a problem
Much as I love my little Kardia, and it is useful to have records to take to cardiology appointments, it is a device for home use. If something peculiar showed up for me I really wouldn't be happy if the cardiologists wanted to treat me based on a home ECG, I would want, and expect, them to run hospital tests with hospital grade technology. You've already had those tests, so try to be more at ease.
I have no medical training. These are just my thoughts and I hope they may help with your concerns. But if you are worried get professional medical advice, and don't rely on what you read here.
I have a kardia 6L and I too have had traces at various times that looks wrong. Went to GP and then cardiology, nothing to worry about! I get PVCs and ectopics - the come and go over the months/ years and I can now recognise them. When I have shown some of the the traces to those with medical knowledge, the answer has always been the always the same - nothing to worry about. But at least I then know for sure
So now, I treat its output with caution and have stopped worrying. It's good to be able to monitor what is happening when I feel rough, but so far I just see traces similiar to those old ones. I'm just looking for something noticeably different.
I hope you will be able to take a deep breath and see the Kardia's output for what it is - an aid, but its the professionals that need to have the last word.
