After being mainly angina free since August last year had a horrible episode today which 3 doses of nitrate spray didn't resolve. Phoned my orbita trial doc at basildon to ask for advice. Upshot be advised my to go to A&E and liased with cardio docs at broomfield. Pretty seamless experience after bloods EGG which thank goodness showed no sign of heart attack. Got Sent home with amlodipine ( which I had been taken off)and a blood test in a week as haemoglobin level Was a little low. Got a colonoscopy on the 4th Feb so I reckon attack was probably stress related.

Unexpected A&E visit
I’Mthe
by accident I used three sprays and collapsed. Do not under any circumstances spray more than once the spray reduces heartbeat dramatically too much and your dead
I've sprayed three times many a time and I think I'm still in the land of the living!!
I was out walking very windy. Felt I needed the spray but fumbled and it went on my cheek second attempt on my chin third under tongue. Next thing I’ve collapsed 1.5 hours wait for ambulance plus 8 hours in ambulance then a dialysis chair as they had no beds. After checking sent home with amlodipine and told to read the spray instruction use only one spray !! Maybe you were lucky

I have been taking amlodipine (5mg tablets daily) for 10 to 12 years for HBP. It has brought my BP down accepatable levels. I have not experienced any side effects from taking it. It is widely prescribed for HBP, and probably other things I don’t know about. I’m not qualified to comment on your condition but for me it has been an effective medicine for me with no untoward effects.
