I have been diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction. Does anyone else have experience of this? The doctor has put me on furosemide. I worry if this leads to heart failure.

Diastolic dysfunction.
I had heart failure due to a low ejection fraction of 27% a year and a half back. Furosemide is the one that has eased me. I then switched this to bumetinide. I think both do the same. I do need to urinate frequently due to it but expected. I take this with candersartan. Overall blood pressure is fine and heart rate etc are ok. Just the breathlessness still on exertion. Everyone is different. Good luck.
Afraid I can't help you but you may have helped me. For a year now my diastolic readings have often dropped into the 60s but when it goes into the 50s I feel awful. I've asked my GP but they are just not interested and insist diastolic doesn't matter. That's several different GPs- we never see the same one twice.
I have been diagnosed with grade one distolic dysfunction. Doc told me a lot of people over 65 get this. Im hoping it doesnt progress. I havnt been given any advice or medication so I'm guessing it must be in early stages. I do get very breathless and struggle to walk up hill .
Same here. Corringham 97
