I have bav moderate leakage, left bundle branch block and lvdd. Hypertensive which until recently was under control. My cardiologist says using his own words my heart is like a car ticking along but will need a new part, its for him to decide just when I need this part. If its fitted too late then I risk going into failure. I know this will happen at some point I'm 56 yrs old. I find myself struggling more and more, so tired. My BP a couple of weeks ago was 199/114 I had chest pain and nausea. A couple of days ago at work I was took ill. Went to hospital told not having heart attack. I are having episodes of where I'm struggling to breathe properly, heaving. I took my BP it was 163/131 I took gtn sat still within ten minutes or so my BP came down. I'm not sure what to think. Is it a blip or am I getting worse.

Hi, unfortunately only you can decide whether you are getting any worse and rhe cardiologist will compare these reasings to earlier ones. I also have LBBB and LVSD. Basically electrics are faulty and the blood is not pumping hard enough to reach the other organs. Maybe you might need BP tablets. It might be worth a check with your GP. Take care .
Contact your GP, your cardiac nurse if you have one, or your cardiologist if you can get through to her/him quickly. Only the medics can determine if you're worsening or not - but they can't do that without you reporting your increased difficulty breathing and other symptoms.
You write in a reply to Brandibell your condition is usually well controlled so you're not sure what is happening now - what is happening now is you are having some 'new' symptoms and those should be reported to the medics following your case as soon as possible. Yes, I know the hospital said you're not having a heart attack, and yes normally they will send a letter to your GP...but you need to contact your medics now, these are not normal times (pandemic, many surgeries and consultants on a coronavirus rota, not normal operating procedures).
PLEASE update us once you've spoken to your medics.
If you for whatever reason don't feel comfortable contacting your assigned medics, at least contact the cardiac nurses on the BHF Heart Helpline, the following link is to their contact details page:
That is fabulous news - clearly you were right to contact the medic and he's taken your new symptoms so seriously you're being fast-tracked for an MRI!
Hopefully the MRI will show something easily sorted, please keep us updated.
