stopping bisoprolol

cardiologist said stop after 2 1/2 years now.

1.25mg. I’ve stopped but can I expect any side effects ?

Hi! I stopped my bisoprolol suddenly at the advice of my cardiologist. I can’t be 100% sure that I had no withdrawal issues as I had so much going on at the same time but I think it was okay. Please don’t worry xx

I stopped a few weeks ago, around 4 months after a pulmonary vein ablation. For me, stopping it raised my resting heart rate by around 10bpm and blood pressure increased slightly. Given it was 100/60 whilst on the tablets, it’s back to 110/70; I was prescribed them to stop the adrenaline kick that caused my heart to jump into paroxysmal AF. Heart rate back to around 58bpm now. I expect you’ll see a similar change initially.

I cut my in half then quarters and stopped slowly. Not Easty to cut though.

Have you got a pill splitter? St. Bart's gave me one on discharge. Ask your chemist/ surgery.

I stopped 1.25 bisoprolol abruptly after 11 months and went into a terrible withdrawal which caused several other problems. Dr.s refuse to validate. Look up bisoprolol buddies. Everyone is different and it has been life threatening for me. I'm now bedridden 19 months.
