Well I saw a cardiologist privately and he put me on bisoprolol to stop the palpitations caused by GP stopping propanalol too abruptly. I would advise u get a telephone appointment with a GP urgently next week so they can advise a tapering regime. Or even speak to a chemist. Monitor ur heart rate and blood pressure if u have a Fitbit or BP machine. Good luck.
I'm not sure why you stopped the Bisoprolol so quickly. I'm still trying to get the balance right. I started on 2.5mg in July, then the cardiologist doubled it but I reported that I was feeling tired and getting poor circulation in my fingers. I'm now taking 3.75mg. I think it's a bit of a process of trial and error where you balance off what's acceptable in terms of side effects with the tachycardia.
I don't have your condition but I have been on bisoprolol 2.5mg long term, or other beta blockers, for about 20 years. It takes time for your body to adjust and , yes, they do make you feel a bit tired, but I had to adjust (lifestyle included). It's a trade-off because they keep my AF under control and things would be a lot worse if it wasn't under control!
