WORK OR NOT

I HAD HEART FAILURE 5 YEARS AGO AND GOT OVER THAT REALLY WELL BUT 2021 HAD A DRINK PROBLEM THAT CAUSED AN ALCOHOL INDUCED MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION WHICH WENT TO AF WITH VT RESPONSE.

ANYWAY IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND TESTS SHOW PAROXYSMAL ATRIAL FIBULATION WITH PRESERVED LV FUNCTION 48%.

MY OLD WAREHOUSE JOB HAS BEEN KEPT OPEN BUT I WONT BE ABLE TO DO THE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY SIDE BUT MAYBE GO WORK ON THE TILL.

TROUBLE AT MOMENT AND MAYBE IF I GO BACK IS THAT I STILL GET EPISODES SO NOT TOO GOOD IF I KEEP STOPPING WORK ALL THE TIME.

I HAVE THE USUAL SYMPTOMS,FATIGUE WEAKNESS,BREATHLESS,PALPITATIONS,NAUSIA,PEE MORE THAN USUAL,LOSS OF APPETITE,GET CONFUSED SOMETIMES,AND CANNOT MOVE AROUND.

THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK WITH SOME VERY MILD SYMTOMS IN BETWEEN THAT CAN BE TOLLERATED WITH NORMAL ACTIVITY WHICH PIP GAVE ME ZERO FOR AND I HAVE APPEALED.

I AM 60 NEXT JAN AND HAVE WORKED 44 YEARS NON STOP SO WOUNDER WITH MY CONDITION WOULD THE DOCTOR OR CARDIOLOGIST SIGN ME OFF PERMANANTLY.

MY SICK PAY AND SAVINGS DEPLETED AND CANNOT GET ANY MONEY UNLESS I FORCE MYSELF BACK TO WORK OR GET PERMANANTLY LAYED OFF.

SICK NOTES JUST KEEP MY JOB OPEN AND ME IN LIMBO WITH NO MONEY.

I GET A £580 old job pension that pays half my bills so over the threshold to claim from DWP.

You could also try claiming for ESA which isn't means tested. There are various charity's that will help you complete the forms as will the Citizens Advice Bureau. To be retired on the grounds of ill health you will need to approach your occupational health dept & will they will need supporting evidence from your medical team, again this is something the CAB or your union (if you have one) could help with advice Good luck

Have you been given a date for your appeal hearing as this will most likely be the decision you will need? A lot of DWP decisions are overturned but if you have representation that will help for your support on your day of hearing.

I JUST FINISHED LETTER TO PIP TO SEND TOMORROW AND JUST NOW APPLIED ONLINE FOR ESA.

THANKYOU PJAZE AND LEZZERS.

IT IS NICE TO KNOW PEOPLE ARE LITSENING AND I WILL IN FUTURE MAKE MORE EFFORT TO REPPLY IF I HAVE ANY INFO FOR THE GROUP.

So sorry to hear they didn't award you pip. I have applied twice and been rejected it's really hard. They base it on how your condition affects in day to day life which isn't fair I feel like you should get pip I'm so glad you are appealing there descion. I am going to try and apply again and if same thing happens I will fight there descion this time..

Hope all goes well for u.

Always appeal if you think DWP have made an incorrect decision and make sure you have representation. The Judge and two Tribunal members will always listen and consider new evidence.

I was originally awarded a PIP about 7 years ago. When it was reassessed, I given an enhanced award for both sections, indefinitely. No review until 2029.

I used this organisation to help me complete the forms both times.

They also give advice on how to claim other benefits.

Good luck!

Your reply to vmeldrew caused a smile. I have a v. old Nokia mobile phone and always leave it on caps for txts as it's easier to use and see. My Nephew asked the same thing. Why are you SHOUTING? I had no idea until then that I was. STILL AM!😊😊
