Hello all

I had a package fitted last July following some significant cardiac pauses.

After insertion I suffered with a pneumothorax and the x2 pericardial effusions. Was rushed back to theatre once following a pericardial arrest and ghe second time they inserted the drain on the ward as they didn't have time to get me to theatre.

Since then my chest has not been right I get a feeling of fullness when walking and pain around my throat (which is where a lot of my pain was felt during this all). I have had reoccurring episode of severe chest pain and have been told probably just scar tissue forming.

New to the group and just wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms post pacemaker insertion? I have been told I am very sensitive to it?

Hello and welcome.

I had an icd fitted in June and had a pneumothorax. They had to fit a drain which I had for a week and then in August had a 3rd wire put into my icd. I get pain under my left breast which bothers me. The doctor said it was probably the lung re-sticking to the ribs but I’m still going to ask the cardiologist about it. I also did get a really weird feeling/pain in my throat when I bent over or inhaled. The doc gave me omeprazole and it seems to be working. Sometimes it’s good to hear if other people are feeling similar as it makes you realise it’s not just you. Hope you’re doing ok 🙂
