26 MALE 25 stone 5 6FT

Fluoxetine 10mg started in January " as they thought i had anexity and stress" "Which I didnt"

Lanzoprazole

Ramiprill

My sweats are now getting unberable. I am constonley hot and dripping of sweat when doing the very BARE minium like walking around the house, going to the bus stop and back which is less than 100 meters. Its gotten so much more worse since it started 3 months ago.

Also noticed when in the sun or in a hot warm I feel the heat ALOT more than I use to and sweat a lot more than I did before in the same situation.

Also side note

For pass year and half I been having palpations where it feels like my heart stops for a second then starts beatng again and somtimea I get a strong thud in chest. It would happend 1/2 times a day.

Its been getting worse to where now past month I get loads of these a day mainly when im walking or doing somthing which cause my heart rate to go up such as masturbation as that always triggers it of.

I am scared thats it due to my heart being blocked the arterys as that what it says online and also my symptomes of excess sweating.

Any ideas?

Good morning! You need to see your GP urgently about both your weight and palpitations. A quick check on the NHS website suggests your BMI is in the morbidly obese range and you need to lose over 10 stone. I was overweight and pre-diabetic with elevated BP and cholesterol when I joined. A carb limited Mediterranean diet as advised by the BHF. helped me lose the weight.

You are very much overweight by the look of your stats and that can especially in hot weather make you sweat more , your body is carrying a Lott weight and that effects your heart , weither the weight is due to you being a body builder or something like a Thyroid. Best thing is to speak to a gp I however believe that all they will say . I’m honestly not being rude or I’m trying hard not to be, I’m overweight myself .

Hi. I would agree with the other replies and would encourage you to see your gp. Ssri antidepressants can also cause excessive sweating so perhaps that’s a contributor factor. It’s worth checking with your gp.

I used to get sweating on my head really badly. The sweat would even run Dow the back of my neck and drench my hair. I think duloxetine may have caused.I still get it in summer but not so badly. (Also, I live in Queensland and the climate in Brisbane does get hot and very humid.)

Dear Helpmexo,

I think most of us can sympathise with the fear and uncertainty when we get worrying symptoms, and I see from your previous post it’s been something you’ve really tried to get to the bottom of, asking doctors, paying for private tests etc. And losing 3 stone too - well done you, I know how horribly hard it can be.

I really would push for seeing a GP who will listen properly and take time to help you. It could be any number of things that are causing your symptoms, no one should jump to assume it’s one thing or another, including the doctor. For instance, with losing weight you could have changed your diet, which might have changed the balance of your electrolytes. A simple blood test could help identify that. Also, things like artificial sweeteners really make my heartbeat erratic. If you eat/drink them, it might be worth holding off and seeing if that helps? Ditto very processed food (even low cal ready meals).

Again some blood tests could identify underlying causes the doctor would be aware of (Eg thyroid).

You shouldn’t need to pay for private tests for your heart that you can’t afford - they should refer you for them on the nhs. Eg have you had a monitor for your heart to wear for a few days? That would help identify the rhythm issues. I think if you explain how often your palpitations are happening now, they might get you some tests/referral?

I think one thing I’ve learnt from wise people on these forums is that when you see the doctor (or consultant) it helps to have it written down and to focus on telling them :

1. what has changed - whether new symptoms or got worse.

2. what the impact is on your life. Be specific. Make sure they’ve heard how bad it is.

3. Say what you’re worried that it might be and ask what tests would rule that in/out. Also find out what they are thinking it might be. Do you need a referral to a consultant?

4. Before you go, make sure you’re happy they’ve heard you, and they have a plan of action that will move it forward.

NB don’t let them simply blame your weight and do nothing until you lose weight. (Of course you can continue losing weight while investigations are being done.)

You’ve probably done all this already, but it sounds like there’s an update, a continuation & deterioration of symptoms, so it’s important to go back. Remember that doctors tend to assume we’re feeling better/ok unless we go back and say we’re not :)

Really wishing you all the best. Try not to worry - easy to say, but hard to do, I know! But anxiety makes things worse. And remember, all of your symptoms could have causes that are simple and fixable, it can just take persistence to get our overstretched medical professionals to help you get there.

Good luck - please let us know how you get on. Jx

You are apparently morbidly obese. No wonder you are feeling hot and sweaty, even people who are not carrying the weight you are carrying are feeling the same in this run of hot dry weather. In your case your heart and the rest of your body are struggling. So as others have remarked you really do need to lose a lot of weight, for if you don't you will continue to feel rubbish. And an appointment with your GP will also be appropriate to investigate whether there is an additional physical or medication reason for your problems.
