James Lovelock had a heart attack in his 50s. He has just died at the age of 103. Don't give up hope. Don't give up on Gaia.

I know MichaelJH has posted about two people in their 90s. One has a HA in the seventies and the other a bypass around the same time. So stay positive.

After last week's fry up on my Saturday walk today it will be back to my usual two poached eggs with tinned plum tomatoes, one slice of wholemeal toast and a pot of tea.

Yes, you remembered correctly David. It is a friend's mother who had the heart attack and a former colleague's father who had the bypass. Whereas bypasses are routine now they were less common then. I believe they cooled people in iced water whilst operating back then.

Yes, I heard that James Lovelock had just died. His thinking was way before his time. I still don't think we understand the full ramifications of his theories, if they are correct. Amazing to discover he had a heart attack so long ago.
