Does anyone get palpitations where it gets so bad it stops you doing anything, been having them constant for months now, where when i lie down my heart rate drops to below 40 then shoots up to over 130 in seconds, hospital give me clean heart health and not to worry and they will pass, easy enough for them to say this, but it drains me each time.

It sounds as if you need a Holter monitor.Have you had one to see what sort of rhythm this is?

Sympathies...I have had this and found it terrifyin! Ended up in AnE twice. Bisoprolol helped asdid yoga breathing. But just had a course of acupuncture which has really helped, almost gone. Some GPs offer it, try yours. Good luck!

If you can afford it get a private ep to talk to.They are the arrhythmia specialists.I Did just that a year ago.London Bridge Hospital.Set the wheels in motion for my ablation 3 months ago on NHS.Good luck.

Sounds like some sort of arrhythmia. Clearly you need attention. If you can't get the NHS interested, either see a electrophysiologist privately (Probably £250 for a first appointment ) or buy a kardiomobile which is NHS approved, and will take an ECG which you can send to a doctor. The EP would probably ask you to wear a Holter or equivalent which would cost more money. At least output from a Kardiamobile would get the attention of a GP.

I’ve been in that position and been told that there’s no problem, although my quality of life was completely wrecked and I felt awful all the time. It was only when I got a private appointment and paid for a 28-day monitor that AF was diagnosed. Since I’ve been treated for that I’ve had no AF and no ectopics. So if you can go privately initially I would recommend it, but as others have said, at least capture your palpitations on a Kardia device or an Apple Watch or the FibriCheck app (which I used before getting an Apple Watch). They all have the ability to send your results to a doctor.
